Quality, detailed product of mfg wood material. Three adults and about 15 hours of casual effort, we had a very fun, nice piece. Recommend using super glue with a brush, like for fake finger nails. Also, a tiny exact blade to cut the very small nibs still holding items fast on the Laser cut boards. Regular Elmer's is preferred on paper items. Also, we superglue tiny lights and cords, rather than using the direction Recommend tape. We angled the desk and made a few other careful tweaks, making certain that we didn't infere with future directions. Excellent overall design. I'm concerned that other models and companies will not live up to this model. 5 out of 5!

Don’t underestimate how long this will take to put together. It’s very tedious, which I’m not saying as a bad thing. Just know you’re not getting this done on a Saturday afternoon. I worked on mine 1-2 hours at a time over three months. Not all of the big pieces are going to fit together perfectly. You’ll have to use a knife or sandpaper to get some things to fit correctly. It’s not perfect but the end result is pretty cool. NOTE: This does not come with glue or sandpaper. You will get a tiny 1” long nail file type of “sandpaper” and that’s it. I used Elmers wood glue, and it held things great.

Addicting! As soon as it arrived and I started working on it. It was so hard to stop! The build is easy and hard. Some parts are just annoying to put together and some are a pain in the butt. I wish I would have paid more attention to the alignment of certain pieces befor I glued them together. The railings across the second floor were a little wonky. I didn't do a very good job installing the internal walls so the lid didn't sit down. I did some major renovations with my dremmel and sandpaper to make it fir. The friend I gave it to, wanted to be able to look inside from the top,and have access in case of problems so I ultimately I didnt glue it down , but it fits nicely. I have already started another bigger,minature house...

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely LOVED doing this little project. Took me two days (about 6-7 hours each). I’m very detailed, so I was very careful gluing my pieces together. A bit of a perfectionist too because I wanted it to look exactly like the one in the box :) Overall, I give this 4.7 out of 5. Why? It does not include glue. Some pieces are very hard to take out (just a few). The tape to hold the wires does not stick as much, so I ended up gluing the wires too. There’s a small hole in the back where a ‘music movement piece’ was supposed to be install but it says ‘purchase separately’ (page 12- step 2). That would’ve been awesome to add. I look forward to making a few of these more. I think this is a great activity to do with teens. Teaches them patience, attention to details, self control, and much more. And let’s face it, looks so cute next to books. ^_^.

Overall, the kit is great, and was fun to paint and put together. However, the power unit for the lights did not work properly. The electric conductivity connections were not functional. I messaged the seller about getting a new power unit (even at my expensel ). My message went unanswered. Beware of electrical issues with lighting power source.

This item is very cute and detailed. I used it as decoration on my TV shelf. My only problem is that it didn't come with the items needed to put it together. It's not too much of a hassle but it is an inconvenience. That being said I really like the antique look that it has. It's not cheap looking and didn't take that long to put together.
