  • Bright and waterproof
Color: Pink
I bought this to help me see my dog when I let her outside at night as her fur color is black. I live on 6 acres and this makes it so easy to keep an eye on her when out because it’s so bright. I put it on a clip style key ring and it’s easy to put on and take off quickly. So small that it doesn’t bother her at all when walking around. Best part is it’s waterproof so I don’t worry about rainy nights. Like another reviewer, not a huge fan of the button batteries and would prefer it to be rechargeable. ... show more

  • Good for dry land signaling buzzsaws, I wouldn't use underwater.
Color: Black
Water resistant/proof marker lights like these are incredibly handy both in and out of the water. I'm always happy to have more on hand. This particular unit is quite helpful, but some design decisions were made that in my opinion raise questions about durability. These durability concerns can be greatly mitigated if one primarily uses this on dry land. The light marker comes with a lanyard in the box so I found this unit makes for a wonderful signaling buzzsaw and works great for marking equipment and personnel in low light. The durability concern is because of the type of switch used. To turn the unit on, you cinch down the end cap all the way, to turn it off you back off a quarter turn. This is a quadruple output light so to change modes you have to turn it off and on again however many times you need to get to the mode you want. This is a fairly common style of switch for cheap keychain lights and it's not without its advantages. But for a light build for scuba like this, it is my belief that this is not ideal. The end cap is what keeps water from flowing into the battery compartment destroying the light. The end cap does have two o-rings on the threading to create a waterproof seal, but that requires the o-rings to be in good working order. The end cap twist switch means that there are more opportunities for water to compromise the threading and all that twisting back and forth puts extra stress on the o-rings. Unlike a lot of dive focused lights this unit did not come with extra o-rings so you'll have to provide your own if they do start to fail. Which is why I feel the best use of this light is out of the water. You still benefit from the o-rings when used on dry lands in very moist or wet environments without the stress of full immersion. One feature that I like is that it's user serviceable. Basically you can change out the batteries yourself. This may not seem like much, but there are a lot of much more expensive markers that are disposable and cannot have their battery changed. The coin batteries come wrapped in what looks like heat shrink tubing keeping the entire stack together if you like to pull your batteries for storage. This isn't strictly necessary for user battery replacement but if you have the capability of replicating this when you replace the batteries you'll have an easier time. This keeps all the batteries consolidated and doesn't result in a battery explosion every time you pull off the end cap. In my testing so far I found it in addition to being a great buzzsaw, it's a great alternative to a headlamp. The red and blue colored lenses are bright enough to get work done but not so bright but they blind everybody in proximity to you. With this unit I can use the lanyard and wear it around my neck, hook it inside my tent for administrative tasks, or clip it on the inside of my work packs for finding contents without splashing unnecessary light. I don't particularly care for the strobe modes, but since this is a marker and not a hand light it's more acceptable. Price wise this may seem a little expensive given its limitations but it's better than the cheaper keychain lights and not as good as the more expensive dive and IFF lights. If you know what you're getting and understand the limitations I think this is a great value for a water resistant light on dry land. ... show more

  • Bright but not overwhelming
Color: Black
This light is a perfect brightness. I bought it to attach to my kayak for when I kayak at dusk for safety. It keeps me visible for other boats and the coast guard if necessary. It doesn't bother my eyes though and when I swam down under the water with it was still bright enough to easily be seen.

  • Not what I hoped
Color: Black
I bought this light to clip on my dog while I waterfowl hunting before the sun comes up as he's easy to lose tabs on being a chocolate lab. At first I thought it was perfect until I used it. The different light functions worked but it shut itself off automatically around the 45-60min mark. I thought maybe it was the batteries so i replaced them and tried again and the light still shut itself off. I contacted the seller to see if this was normal as i didnt see anything about it in the paperwork and the seller assured me that it was not normal and that they would send me a replacment free of charge. The new light arrived today and this light does the same thing as the first one and shuts itself off at the 45-60min mark. At this point I either got two defective models or this is actually how they are intended to work. I would give 5 stars if the light would stay on until I turned it off. Giving 2 stars for customer service only. ... show more

  • Versatile, bright, and compact
Color: Red
Very bright. When I took it diving in a clear spring, it was visible for at least 100 feet underwater at night. After six hours of night diving, it was still glowing strong. The claim of being visible for a mile is potentially accurate at the surface and on a clear night. Well-constructed. No issues with leaking so far. Easy to use and change light colors/modes. It takes a common type of battery so, when the time comes, it will be easy to find replacements for the ones that were included. The string that came with it broke on the first dive, so I recommend replacing it with a sturdier cord before taking it into the water. ... show more
