It is very sturdy, the only problem I had when I assembled was the top and making sure I got the top extension part screwed on right for it to life up correctly. This clicked a lot of boxes. But the best thing about it is the lifting table top. I have this in a den/office. I want it to function as a table unless I am using it for work, with my lap top and am sitting on the sofa. It is so easy to swing up the table height. or store files and docs in the space below and shut it down when people come over. For me, the style and finish etc. were the perfect industrial/clean look I wanted. Its not real wood, and I wouldn't leave spilled liquid on it for long. But it assembled easily, (by myself and I am not experienced) feels solid, lift up function is sturdy, and I think it exceeded my expectations. This is a nice table. Very sturdy. Was pretty simple to put together. Took me a little less than an hour. Not sure why another reveiwer took 2 1\2. That seems a bit excessive. Here's a tip for putting the top on with one person: Get your brackets and screw them to the lid in the correct orientation. This can be a bit confusing at first so take a second to figure this out before screwing them on. Now, after that, remove the brackets from the lid and then screw them into the table in the correct orientation. Finally, with the brackets mounted to the table, place the lid on top of the brackets in the correct orientation and screw it into place. Should be pretty easy since you already started the holes. If you follow the above and ensure correct orientation of the lid and brackets, you won't have the gap that another reveiwer pictured here. ... show more

Maybe it’s me, or maybe it’s difficult to put together on your own… took me about 2 hours or so … it’s a little wobbly when open but sturdy when it’s closed and it does look nice

This coffee table is functional and nice looking, but it's particle board and I can see the top/lid starting to come screws becoming loose and falling off after a few years of opening and closing it. Decent value, sturdy overall. Satisfied with purchase overall

This was not the easiest to build but once it was done its fairly sturdy. The table isn't as sturdy as I would have hoped but its good enough for a drink and a computer. It makes things a lot easier from sitting at the couch and it looks great. Ive even filled the table full of board games and it fits a TON of things in there. Get what you pay for, for the price it is functional and looks good. Perfect for my work from home days. It won't survive heavy weights or rough treatment but it is functional.
