I purchased this because it was cotton. They tend to not slide too much on my table. The colors were very nice, a bright red and pine green on on white that went well with my casual Christmas dishes. It is a medium weight which I prefer and seems well made but I'm only giving the durability four stars because I've only used it for a month. I believe it will last a long time though. I washed it in cold before I used it then draped it over a couple of kitchen chairs until it was almost dry but finished in the dryer and did not notice any shrinkage. It may sound like a bit more work but it really dried quickly. It ironed very well but finishing it in the dryer took care of some of the wrinkles. I was very pleased the way it washed it was exactly how I hoped a cotton cloth would be. It spot cleans well. I had no trouble spot cleaning some coffee stains (on a daily basis it seems) even on the white squares. lots of times I didn't notice it for hours after it happened so they were good and dry. I scrubbed the spot a bit with a wet wash cloth for about 10 seconds and was good to go. I believe the same thing happened with spaghetti sauce and taco sauce on more than one occasion and those had me thinking it would have to be laundered again with stain treatment but nope! I'm giving stain resitance only four stars as well because these were just small mishaps but but we did use this every day, a family of four (sometimes five if father in law joined us) so it was not treated delicately. I really expect it to be durable if you have a mishap bigger than average daily use I believe cold water with a few squirts of stain remover will take care of it. I am right now looking for more from this company in different colors. I highly recommend. ... show more

I bought two sets of these. They wash well in the washing machine and I just hand fold them. Yes, there are some wrinkles but nothing I'd feel needed ironing. The colors are pretty (some Scotch plaid can be gaudy, but this isn't), and they don't run in the wash.
