  • Works well
Color: Black
It works well, my only complaint is that the instructions on attaching the keyboard to the stand aren’t very clear.

  • I’m not sure where the scales when compared to others, but I love it.
Color: White
Set up was easy out of the bike, though the instructions are not super clear. It’s pretty easy to figure out what to do. As far as I can tell the same great for beginners. Because I’m not overly threatened by it and I am a beginner. For household use it has adequate volume. Though it does have the option for output to a louder sounding device. The keys have nice resistance and remind me of the piano I grew up nearby, but never learned to play. ... show more

  • Not Exactly What I Expected
Color: Black
I was so excited to get this keyboard as an upgrade to one that I have, that was half the price. That said, after receiving it, the quality doesn't seem better than the keyboard I have that cost a whole lot less. Pros: - It comes with a lot of accessories: A stand, a seat, a dust cover, a carrying bag, headphones, and has space to hold your music. - It's full size, 88 keys. - The stand height is adjustable. - It can be used with headphones. - It works well, definitely functional and can be fun to play. Cons: - It's expensive for the quality. - I think it's misleading to describe the keys as weighted. The sound output is sensitive to the touch, but the keys do not feel weighted to me. - The overall feel of it is not great. Overall, it's a decent, full-size keyboard. But I would not consider this to have weighted keys, and I think the price is largely due to the accessories included versus the quality of the keyboard itself. ... show more

  • Poor sound
Color: Black
Perhaps the biggest complaint I have about the MSTNE digital piano is the sound. It's tinny and nothing like what I expected, and certainly not nearly as good as my smaller old Casio keyboard I had from the 80's. To me, sound quality is huge so this is a really big drawback for me. It was easy to put everything together and once assembled, the stand was solid enough for me not to worry. I don't like the seat -- it isn't really high enough for me. It's nice that it has a music stand that attaches but the headphones are horrid, and I'm not even that picky about headphones. I'm on the fence about the feel of the keys since it's been forever and a day since I've played. It feels "ok" to me, but I'm no expert on that. While there are various "voices" and rhythms but it's annoying having to cycle through to get to the one you want. My older, cheaper keyboard has a few separate buttons for that and it's so much more convenient. I really wanted to be able to recommend this keyboard, but unfortunately I can't. It's good for beginners, I suppose, but less expensive, smaller keyboards would most likely serve a beginner just as well. It's nice that it's a full-size keyboard, but I'm thinking that once one progresses to a point where they would want a full-size keyboard, decent sound quality would also be a must. This keyboard definitely fails in that aspect. To sum it up, I'd pass on this keyboard. The quality is just not there. ... show more

  • Not very good, but cheap and loads of accessories
Color: Black
The keyboard itself is about as cheap as I could imagine you could get a 88-key keyboard. The action is both heavy and squishy, somehow. The "weighted" keys seem to be just heavy springs to make the keys harder to push down. Unlike many cheap keyboards, this one is velocity-sensitive, but it's very hard to play quietly, and the slightest effort results in full-volume notes. Something about the velocity curve needs to be adjusted, and it's not adjustable. The sounds are the same generic 128 MIDI sounds as in every entry-level keyboard, but the speakers are tinny so the bass is lacking. It's better through headphones. Access to sounds (and rhythms, etc.) is sequential so to get from piano to (say) a trombone sound you'd have to push "up" dozens of times, or hold it down. The finish is decent and the music rack is nice (though prominently emblazoned with the brand, "MSTNE"). The one saving grace of this keyboard may be that it has a real USB-B MIDI output, so I'm hoping to find a use for it as a controller. Now the accessories: The bench is small but since our pianist is 10 years old, it's fine for her. It's adjustable only by removing and replacing a bolt, and (like the piano stand) the footprint gets narrower as you make the bench higher. For our 10-year-old the bench is at the highest position. On ours, one of the "foot" crossbars was welded on crooked, so it's a rocking bench. I'm not strong enough to bend it back into position so we had to shim up one foot. The piano stand requires assembly, which wasn't difficult, and it is sturdy once assembled. It is height-adjustable with a pull-knob which is much better than the bench. I hadn't seen this before: It comes with straps to secure the piano to the stand. Finally you get a sustain pedal and a pair of (very cheap) headphones. I'm not sure I'd recommend this keyboard to anyone. A young student pianist (who can't have a real piano) would be better served by a higher-quality instrument with fewer keys, and a student who progresses to needing a full 88-key keyboard will require better action and better sounds. For a public space like a church or retirement home or school, it's just not good enough. It's cheap but you can do cheaper by looking for a 61-key model. Two stars, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this now. ... show more
