I have a doctorate degree in trumpet performance and have many bags. There is ample padding. The zipper is just as described and will not touch the horn. I'll be traveling for a month coming up and can only bring one horn with me. I was looking for he smallest gig bag possible so that when I fly some international airlines that only allow one carry on item I could put my gig bag into my backpack. I have a gard triple roller bag as well but almost every airline tries to tell me it won't fit in the plane even though it does! then I have to worry about some power hungry fight attendant telling me to gate check my expensive horns to see some grease monkey throwing them around from the window of the plane. It's not worth the stress anymore. I have a 40 liter capacity REI lookout backpack bag. This case fits nicely inside with about 4 inches of the bell remaining outside the main pouch but not enough to look obtrusive. Also, the side pocket is of decent size and is not the same as the flat looking one in some of the photos. i can easily fit a straight, cup, harmon, and plunger mute into the side pocket. Also, if you leave mutes behind and pack efficiently you can fit several pairs of socks, underwear, and T shirts inside the main compartment with the horn and the side pocket. There's also a nice thick loop on the oposite side of the bag of the smaller pouch near the bell that comes in handy for securing the bag to other items. For the difference in price between this and the leather bags it was a no brainer. Though i have seen the leather bags before and they are great quality bags as well, but they are also much more expensive. Best purchase for the price by far! ... show more

I am very pleased with this gig bag. I bought it because I needed something very lightweight and portable, yet protective, that I could fit in a suitcase along with all my clothes. It is very well padded and sturdy, and it's honestly higher quality than I expected, given the price. And it does fit in my midsized suitcase nicely. I've only had it a month or so, but it looks like it will stand the test of time for years. I love the roomy pouch on the side -- big enough for several mutes. Though if you need something that can carry sheet music, this is not the bag for you as the side pouch is not wide enough. I also like that it can fit my cornet, which is shorter and stockier than trumpets are. I love the padding over the zipper and the padded wooden insert that fits below the bell. This rosin is super sticky, applies really nicely and smells fresh. It doesn't leave that white film on my fiddle & I have found there's a better response to subtle changes in bowing, giving me a fuller range of dynamics, tone & effect. The wooden container it comes in - is seriously - absolutely beautiful... but it took me a day or two to realize that if I left a small corner of the fabric cover (that's on the rosin) sticking out of the round, wooden box... that the lid will - stay closed... without that little piece of fabric sticking out, the lid falls off. I bought this for my grandchildren. They absolutely love it. My granddaughter has been singing since she was 2 she is now 13. My grandson is 10 and also has a wonderful voice. I bought this so that by amplifying their voices they would actually hear how good they sound. As soon as I gave it to them my granddaughter read the easy directions put the battery in and turned it on and she started to sing in harmony with a group on her ipad. Great, sturdy bag. I purchased this 4 years ago when my daughter was in 6th grade. The hard sided case was too heavy and cumbersome to take back and forth to school. She is in 10th grade and this bag is still going strong after 4 years. This bag is used 5+ days a week and has held up nicely. It is now starting to show some wear, which is expected. I like this tuner. My ears aren't very trained to tune and this helps out a great deal. I use it both for my violin and guitar. I like the display's brightness which I have no trouble seeing. Its also adjustable above the clip. Do remember to have it off before you change the batteries or you will blow the display. Make sure its off. Others haven't. Mine is a couple of years old and I just bought new batteries for it. I turned it off replaced them and voila it still work very nicely! ... show more

I play upright bass, and love this tuner. In fact, I own two of them, one for each of my instruments. I clip it to my bridge, and it reads the vibration of the strings clearly, even when the other guys in the band are making a racket. The backlit feature is especially good on a darkened stage.
