A very basic caliper. These calipers are obviously an inexpensive version of more refined and accurate calipers. After several days of moderate use I’ve noticed a few things: 1. They are very light weight, but that ends up working against them. Without a bit more resistance in heavier parts it is more difficult to get extremely accurate adjustments. 2. Accuracy and calibration. My pair are off slightly in the tenths of mm. Generally not a huge deal but don’t expect these to be as accurate as a more expensive and quality pair. Good for quick measurements, not so good for very detailed measurements. Edit: review lowered to 1 star after the seller tried to offer to refund my money in exchange for deleting the review. ... show more

I needed a caliper, where I found this one with a lot of good reviews, and was not disappointed. It is very accurate, slides so smooth, and stays where you leave it to, does not waver. Going to be using this to turn papercraft models into 3D-Pen models. It's perfectly accurate. In the pictures I'm measuring a papercraft skull that I plan to make a 3D model of in the near future. I like that you can zero it out and add/subtract measurements right on it. I'm not saying I'm against using a ruler, now, but I think I'll be using this a lot more. The carbon fiber construction makes this a very light tool. Unfortunately it only goes to two places after the decimal point making it a poor choice for reloading/hand-loading which usually requires measurements up to three decimal places, but a good choice for other not as precise hobbyist uses. I haven't used it much, but so far it is exactly what I wanted. I was looking for a way to discern the size of something in a picture on my computer screen by comparing its size in the picture with something else in the picture with a known size. This is perfect. It came with an extra set of batteries, but is still on the original. I don't treat it roughly and it spends most of its time in my desk drawer so I can't attest to its durability, but I am more than satisfied with it so far. ... show more

I normally use a Mitutoyo for my measurements at work, but at home I don't need something that precise. This caliper is cheap, accurate up to .1mm, and well, very cheap. Plastic built, feels cheap, but you get what you pay for. It holds its zero well (even if left off in an open position), the battery lasts a long time, and gives consistent results. While not great for scientific uses, for working in the shop or getting quick measurements for design work, I'd say this is an extremely useful investment. Use almost daily. ... show more
