I regularly use digital calipers for designing things to 3D print as well as other projects. Measurements from this QDXMD Digital Caliper match my other calipers. The screen has a lot of contrast and is easier to read than my other calipers. The thumbwheel feels a bit loose. It doesn't affect anything, but can move around a fair bit when your thumb isn't against it. One other thing of note is that this set of calipers does not have an option to display inches with fractions, only decimals. Overall I think they are a good set of calipers for this price range.

After zeroing out the caliper on the digital readout, the readout would not register measurement accurately. When moving the caliper one inch the digital readout would register a greater number. When returning the caliper to the zero position, the readout would register + or - way more than 0.001.

Stainless steel precise and exact measurements, with all the bells and whistles.... I only wanted to be able to measure the width of a wrist watch "case", or the width of a wrist watch, band, so i could order the correct size replacement, and things like that... things I call, '"simple stuff". I had a lame plastic model once before and I don't even remember what happened to it, it was so lame. So this work horse here, solid stainless steel metal, is a huge improvement from the start, relatively speaking. I'm not going to be able to do this instrument justice in talking about the intricate measurement capabilities in detail, except to point out that it does seem to have everything anyone could ever want in such a device... outer diameter, inner diameter, depth... and "step", which I don't pretend to know what that is, but I'm glad to have it if I ever need it. This digital caliper measuring tool is very high quality, very well made, and performs and functions, just as it should... not that I've tried to use every function it can do, but if it does one thing well it's going to do the rest well... it's too nice and finely made, not to do everything it claims. Will recommend to friends and family.

I haven't calibrated it yet to determine its accuracy, but... 1) The slide is tight with no play + 2) Can do inside and outside measurements + 3) Appreciate the digital readout + 4) Nice case to protect it + Note: if you want this for really precise measurements, you should have it calibrated locally. Minimum, use it to measure a known standard to see how close it is measuring.

Many years ago, one would have paid a pretty penny for one of these, but nowadays, there are many tools that are available for a very low price that work perfectly and do everything they are supposed to do. Maybe not up to the standards of a high-end version, but then again, maybe it is, only time and use will tell. So far, I have absolutely no complaints and would not hesitate to recommend. For what it is, what it does, and what it costs: Five Stars I am the Totally Unbiased Reviewer Dude (T.U.R.D.) and that is how I see it.

This is a legitimate stainless steel caliber which is much better than those cheap plastic ones. There’re some matching oil on mine, which caused some repeatability issues at the beginning. But after wiping it off with some alcohol wipes, it’s very dependable, ie, zero, pull out, push back, reading remains zero. Not expecting this to be a mitutoyo, nor am I paying for one. For its asking price, it’s a very good value stainless steel caliber for general DIY/ home use.
