So far I really like it. It measures accurately and Ames of all metal so you would not be worried about clamping the jaws too tight. If it was plastic that might dent the tips and that might affect accuracy. I used it to measure my guitar strings and the smallest one was 0.09” and it was accurate all the times. Auto turn on when start to use it. Great product and reasonable price.

This is the third time I've purchased this exact digital caliper because it works so well! I keep one at my 9-5 job, another at my office desk for when I'm using CAD software, and one more out in my workshop. It's consistently reliable and provides precise measurements, which is essential for my work and projects. The build quality is solid, and it has held up well in different environments. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an auto-off function to save battery life (only reason for 4 stars), so you have to remember to turn it off manually. Despite that, it's an excellent tool for the price and one I highly recommend for anyone needing accurate and dependable measurements.

The unit turns itself on when you move the jaws. It also turns off after you stop using it after a small time delay. It measures mm, inches and fractions, and its easy to convert between them. It comes with a battery installed in the unit and a spare one, which was a pleasant surprise. It also has a cleaning cloth for the display.

I needed a consumer level instrument and this one was priced right. I unexpectedly needed it the day it arrived. It was easy to use and accurate to measure the ID of a piece of pipe. Nice to have instead of trying to estimate a measurement holding a ruler. Comes with a nice plastic case and complete instructions for newbies. Also an extra battery

I sit and play with them and measure things that don't need to be measured just because these are such a joy to hold. They're very precise (repeatable) and I assume accurate. The construction is solid and angles sharp.

It does the job and It's easy to read. there are some slight irritations: It's not as smooth as higher-priced options. Sometimes I need to jiggle the slideout battery compartment to get it to power up. The locking screw is stiff. The enclosure is bigger and heavier than plastic housing versions.
