- Glow Plugs 6.6 duramax Replace OE Part Number: 12639701, 97364968. Glow plugs are usually located on the top of the cylinder head. When you place them, remove the glow plug wires Carefully remove the glow plugs, one at a time, using a reamer to clean each electrical contact and nut, and ream the hole for each glow plug. Replace each plug with a screw and tighten it with a ratchet. Use a wrench to reconnect the wires to each glow plug with a nut.

Do not buy these if you want your diesel running right. Replaced all 8 of mine because I had 1 go bad so I figured I’d just do them all at one time. When I finished and cleared my check engine light, ran the truck for awhile and ended up with 2 of these being bad. Do yourself a favor and buy the OEM parts!

When package arrived they were all scattered in bag. Replaced all 8 on pickup. And 6 of them were bad! had codes for each one of them that was replaced. One broke in half do not buy!!! 6 hours wasted
