My dog loves this food! I'll tell you a few things I like about too. My German Shepherd is allergic to chicken. Gives him a nasty, raw, red rash on his belly. An unfortunate allergy, especially since chicken or chicken byproducts are often added to many dog foods as a source of protein. I'm a label reader for that reason. I'm pleased that this food does not contain any chicken byproducts. The difference in my dog's skin and coat is definitely due to the reduced allergens. Way less licking, scratching, redness or hot spots. He's more at peace when he's not itching, and that makes us both happy. You know, it probably is a little shinier too. The bag of dog food I received today was surprisingly fresh. My dog was sniffing the air and so excited for me to put a scoop in his bowl. Sometimes he likes when I add a cup or so of hot water to it to make a little gravy. He'll wait for me to add it if he's feeling that. Today, he scarfed that food down dry. Zero hesitation. The price of this dog food is reasonable especially considering the good quality, chicken byproducts free ingredients. I tend to shop a couple other brands at the $1.60-$1.70 lb price point and love when I catch this one on sale. We've tried the lamb one too, but it's quite smelly. We fill up a big dog food tote and scoop out of it at meal time. You can always tell when the lid is open with the lamb one. Ha! I will still buy it if its the one on sale, because it is also a good quality dog food without chicken. Can't be too picky. But I prefer the salmon skin and coat recipe. I will buy it again and do recommend, especially if your dog has food allergies. This is a good dog food usually at a fair price. ... show more

Reasonable price for value/bag size. High quality ingredients. I’ve been feeding this to my dog for a few weeks now and haven’t had any issues and even re-ordered already. He eats it right away and seems like he enjoys it. No stomach problems thus far. Overall, it does what it’s supposed to and feels like a dependable everyday option. I’ve been feeding Diamond Naturals Adult Dog Beef Meal & Rice Formula to my adult dog and we’ve been really happy with it. The kibble looks good quality and I feel confident about the ingredients. My dog eats it enthusiastically every time, which is not always the case with other brands. His coat looks shiny and he seems to have good energy since we switched. Digestion has been good too. There haven’t been any issues with upset stomach or loose stools, which was something I noticed with a few other foods we tried in the past. The beef meal and rice combo seems to sit well with him. Portions are easy to measure and the bag lasts a solid amount of time. For the price, you get a lot of food that doesn’t feel like cheap fillers. Overall this formula has been a great everyday food for my dog and I’d recommend it to other dog owners who want a quality beef based kibble. ... show more

I switched to this food after I had issues with another Super Premium brands quality consistency. My dog really likes the food and her coat and body look great. Now for the bad part. I recently needed to order more, and found that the price on Amazon had gone crazy. I checked around and was able to find it at the price I had been paying Amazon, so I ordered more. I wish I could give different stars to the different entities involved!!! The food is almost the only food my dog likes and is a great value! Five stars for the food! 2 stars to Amazon for shipping arrival on the day they said but package with no foresight. And 1 star to whoever delivered it! More than half of a 40lb bag was lost in shipping and my trying to get the bag out of the box because I couldn't see where it was busted and 40lhs of dog food isn't easy for me to lift at 120lbs and over the hill! The food deserves more stars but I wish I could get it locally. This much loss makes it as expensive as Royal Canin! Amazon, wrap up the package in plastic, not brown paper. Use a box designed to handle 40 lbs at the very least, please. Or, provide a broom, mop, and maid to clean up the mess, plus bug killer for the porch and the exterminator to spray, hand soap, floor cleaner, etc...and I can justify the cost. But, I love my dog and will get him the food he loves and you know I will continue to order so you don't change. Bad business. Think I will ask a local store to see if they will carry his food. ... show more
