I bought this for a DIY replacement of 4 inch 1950s cast iron drain pipe running horizontally in the basement. I was a little worried about it cracking or the lead joints breaking loose, so I supported the cast on both sides of each cut with clevis hangers so it wouldn't move, and this blade just cut right through it. Took a little bit to get started, but once it was going the middle and bottom went pretty quickly. The only issue was I cut it on an angle and had to grind it down with an angle grinder. Would recommend taking it more slowly and keeping the blade square through the whole cut. After it was removed, I used the same blade to make three more cuts in the scrap piece to make it easier to dispose of. So, five cuts is not bad considering some blades dull after one or two. It might even have a few more cuts in it, I'm not sure. Would definitely recommend for this application. ... show more

Ive seen video reviews of this blade cutting through thick metals and I need to cut through about a half in metal rods so I’m hoping this will work. It works great cuts fast just keep the blade lubricated will buy more.

One blade made 4 pretty easy cuts in an old thick metal pipe. I tried using an angle grinder with dewalt metal cutting blades, but a single cut ate a disc. The price point between the two options is about the same as the grinder discs cost about $1.00 each, but using a grinder doesn't seem as clean, safe or easy. ... show more

It worked great. I had a hitch pin lock that I lost the key to, so I needed to cut it off my truck. The pin was case hardened, and a hacksaw was not working. I used this blade, and it easily cut the the 5/8 inch pin.
