to start the mattress is not 6 inches thick its 4.5. its not very firm either, you can feel the supports underneath. it looks like they put the mattress in the box per order as you can choose a color and maybe i got the wrong one. it is very low to the ground the highest point of the seat is 14 inches from the floor. after two nights sleeping on it it is very uncomfortable and i did not sleep well. after the 2 nights i ordered a 3 inch thick self inflating camping mat to put on top. it improved it by 200 percent but its still not great. assembly was a little tricky cause the instructions were generic and not specific for this futon. there were some issues with some of the bolts not fitting due to the welding process leaving some slag and bits of the wire blocking the holes. im a mechanic so i have the tools to fix that issue, if your not you might have problems. for what i paid for it i was expecting a little more quality. i dont expect this to last more then a year. i would not buy again ... show more

Mattress looks cheap call false advertisement from the picture, pain in the ass to put together. If you don't know what your doing, you might have to pay someone. The directions are very hard to read. Made my Bain hurt I had to have someone else put it together

Took hours to assemble. Directions so so Comfortable but the mattress cover is super wrinkly. Inexpensive. An extra seating area and bed on the lanai.

This bed took over 4 hours to put together. While the instructions say it needs only a screwdriver, this will not be enough. Not only did it need a power tool, but I also had to use a drill to gauge the hole and make them bigger as the screws provided were too big for the tiny holes. After I finally got it all put together, it does support 2 people, but the mattress is so thin, you can feel the metal slats underneath you as well as the hard tiny plastic parts that keep the mattress attached to the cover. It does in fact make a futon that 2 people can sleep on...but my whole body says, "at what cost?" ... show more
