Description

The ToughSystem Large Case features a durable structural molded foam wall and an integrated water seal to protect the tools inside of it on the jobiste. With an IP65 rating, this unit is water and dust resistant. Compatible with the entire ToughSystem(R) storage line. From the Manufacturer The DEWALT Tough System allows any professional to build the storage option that fits their needs. Technicians, electricians and contractors can all use different combinations, eliminating the need for multiple storage boxes spread throughout the jobsite or workshop. This system offers contractors a means of organizing, sorting and transporting their tools and materials from one jobsite to the next. Tough System units can be stacked and locked together or the can be attached to the L-Carrier (DWST08210) for easy transport. The DWST08203 medium case is sized perfectly for larger power tools, and also includes a deep removable tray designed to fit a cordless tool battery and charger. It also features an integrated water seal for tool and material protection from rain, snow and other weather elements. A central locking mechanism allows the stand-alone storage cases to securely attach to the carrier for easy transport. For jobsite security, padlock eyes permit locking of the stand-alone units. The DEWALT Tough System is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

I used this toolbox for hardwood flooring installation and misc hand tools. Probably overloaded it. It took 2ish years before the handle attachment point in the lid crumbled and the handle pops out now. It’s now getting left in the van, as a master set.

This has all but replaced my 5 gallon bucket of power tools, I've got to sit on something! Nothing can replace the bucket boss full of hand tools 💕 It's a about as heavy as I'd like to carry if it's all loaded down as pictured. The tote is an awesome catch all during the day and holds quite a bit if it's packed up right. My only real gripe is with the inter-case locks, super difficult to get the cases apart but I have a lil pry bar that pops them open before I rip my bones through my flesh. Hopefully they hold up or break in. Note this is actually a backwards connection between tough system, and system 2.0, they fit but I wonder if maybe it's not 100% perfect. I have more tough system 2.0 on the way so maybe I can update that later. ... show more

It's very sturdy and tough. I can toss things in and pull things out, without worrying about breaking it. It slides and bounces around the back of my truck all day long, and never cracks or breaks like some lesser products I've tried.

The engineering in this system is superb. As an engineer myself I can appreciate the dozens of little details in the system that had to have taken a lot of thought, time, and prototyping. First of all, the stackability. The boxes not only stack, but firmly fall into place so they don't slide off. They also lock together. On cases with a lid, a convenient recess for placing a label tape is visible even when stacked tightly. Of course, stacked and locked together is great for transportation, but not for day to day use. This is where the racking system comes into play. Dead simple to assemble and very sturdy. I will say that that carrier brackets gave me a lot of trouble until I realized it was all operator error. Using the wrong tool for the job. It is difficult to get the bolt to engage the nut with an Allen wrench, even a a good size t-handle wrench. However, a Allen bit on a 12 inch extension bit attached to a drill does the trick with no problem - it allows you to hold the bracket in place with one hand and drive the bolt home with the other. So as I say, this was totally my issue and not the bracket design. I would like to see one small design change here, however: Graduated markings on the square tubing to allow easy alignment of a pair of brackets would be great. A tape measure works, but takes time and is difficult to manage while holding the bracket in place. If I was to build these again, I would lay out all the square tubing together and mark them with a framing square. I have the small, medium and open tote cases and they are all great. I want to comment specifically on the small case though. It is an amazingly flexible case. You can leave all the plastic organizers in it and store small tools/parts, or remove some or all of them. One of my favorite features are the groves in the lid that catch the edges of the organizers - this means if you configure a case with only some of the organizers installed they are still captured securely and don't slide around - no matter where you place them. I have also found the small bins built into the lids to be helpful. These bins fold down and fall into slot molded into the edge of the case, which props the lid open and allows you to access the two bins without needing to hold the lid open. One of the bins is has no dividers, and the other is divided in to smaller sections. The case has handles on the sides, front, and top making it easy to cary anyway that is convenient. ... show more
