  • Cocentricity gauge NOT included!
Size: Pack of 1
Product description states "Sub-base concentricity gauge included to ensure bit concentricity for best-in-class accuracy." False statement - it's not included and costs another $11.65 on Prime, so Amazon's price isn't as good as it seems.

  • Fragile Threading - Broke Immediately
Size: Pack of 1
No problems getting it out of the box. Seems like a very rugged unit. My issue is one that I other another buyer ran into (Read on the Dewalt site.). After placing the router bit into the collet, I noticed the bit was loose. I tightened it a bit more. Turned the unit on and the bit fell out. Literally in a couple of seconds. When I undid the nut, I saw that it has stripped. I now have a useless router. Very disappointing. ... show more

  • Replaced My Porter Cable
Size: Pack of 1
I am a home woodworker who used to work in a custom woodshop. Our favored brand was Delta (later Porter Cable) and my home router was one of these smaller PC models. Worked well for many years and small enough to fit into one hand. That model recently quit working and is no longer made. Other more recent PC tools have been poorly made and seem designed for the home market and not nearly as robust as before. Hence, this DeWalt router was the closest model I could find. VERY happy with it. It's a bit bigger and not able to fit in one hand, but still small enough to handle easily. The depth adjustment is far better design than the PC model giving much better control to small adjustments. Plenty of power to handle 1/4" or 1/2" shank bits and totally pleased after one month of use. ... show more

  • A quality tool better suited for a table than for freehand
Size: Pack of 1
Now that I've had some time to play with this, I think it deserves 4 stars. I really like how it feels and how easy it is to adjust the height of the bit. I've never had an issue with any cuts in a variety of woods (I also use good quality bits). It comes with 1/4" and 1/2" collets and requires wrenches to adjust which is fine for the price router. My biggest problem is the switch is not easily accessible when free handing. It's touch to stretch your thumb while making sure the router is stable on the wood, but that the bit is not touching the wood. I'm used to having the trigger on the handle, but if it was low enough that I could flick it without having to let go of the handle, it wouldn't be an issue. Because of this, I'd say this is the perfect router to mount in a table, and serviceable for freehand work if you don't mind using wrenches and taking the extra precautions with the on/off switch. ... show more

  • Router
Size: Pack of 1
To get five stars, you have to knock my socks off. I would say a decent router for the price. This one is my second. I bought it to use as a fixed router in a table rather than the hand-help type. My other B&D is fine for hand-held but wouldn't go in the router table I got (Bosch). This one went it well and works fairly well. Fairly well rather than great because it is a little hard to adjust the height easily. I'm not sure, other than a table lifter, that any others would be that much better either, but consider that. My B&D is a hard one to adjust the height on also, and it isn't fixed to a table. I do like the 1/2" capability. I have pulled it out of the table and used the hand-held option when I needed to use a 1/2" bit that I couldn't do on the table. My B&D is only 1/4". Never paid that much attention to that until then. It worked fine as a hand-held that time so no real gripes there. It does power through the material nicely. So far, walnut, cherry, oak, pine, all done well. ... show more

  • A dynamite router for the price.
Size: Pack of 1
A dynamite router. Some difficulty in getting the circular attachment to line up with my Bosch router table, so beware. The router has incredibly accurate adjustments and the adjustment up and down is very simple and smooth. Changing bits is easy, it does require the two wrenches included, but the task is a simple snap each way. The router does not vibrate much either; the motor adjustments for speed are easy to reach under my router table. It has ample power to cut easily through oak and maple without burning the wood. This isn't a lightweight router; it's full size and full weight. I highly recommend this router. ... show more

  • Affordable, Easy to Use, However......
Size: Pack of 1
I love this router, however, have been frustrated with the adjustment ring. Regarless of how tight I set the adjustment lock, the adjustment ring will become lose when routering resulting in sudden bit drops of 1/16 to 1/8 inch. I understand I may have a lemon but after buying new and experiencing immediate problems, I was suprised that Dewalt's solution was ship the product to their repair center rather then provide me with a new one. I plan to secure the ring with tape and keep using for a couple weeks until my projects are completed before sending in for repair. ... show more

  • Excellent tool for this user
Size: Pack of 1
I think it handles well. Looks durable. I like the depth gauge; accurate in 1/64" increments. I also like that the power cord can be disconnected from the router itself; makes storage easier and avoids damage to the cord from over flexing. I wish the on-off switch was built into one of the handles. Must be sure that the switch is off before plugging in the router. Also you are holding the router with one hand when you switch on the router which will which will slightly jerk from the torque when it starts. Manageable but undesired. I don't use a router often and this one should meet my needs. I am pleased with the value and would buy it again. ... show more
