Description

The Interior and Exterior Rotary Construction Laser Level is accurate to 1/4 inches at 100 feet. It is constructed to withstand rugged jobsite conditions with a durable rotary cage that helps protect the head if dropped. An innovative configuration of multiple thin struts maintains the unit's strength while eliminating blind spots. The laser level for picture hanging is self-leveling in horizontal mode, and in vertical mode, arrow buttons used for manual leveling are more intuitive than traditional knobs. Sharp and bright, the beam can be seen up to 100 feet indoors, and can be recognized at up to a 1200-foot diameter outdoors with the included detector. The laser also offers a weather-resistant housing for durable and accurate performance. Product uses 9V Lithium Ion batteries and 2 D Batteries for the detector. The laser also offers a weather resist housing which offers a durable and accurate service. The new DW0742 laser detector and clamp will locate the beam up to 1000 feet (diameter) from the laser. The DW074KD includes the self-leveling laser, DW0742 detector and clamp, DW0740 wall mount, target card, DEWALT contractor's bag, and (2) "D" batteries / (1) 9V battery.

    • Receiver never worked but the last is great
Laser works excellent however receiver never worked. I really didn't have time to return this and wait for a replacement. I used another receiver I had and the laser has great battery life and has been the most accurate I have had. It's a shame the other part was doa.

This item is a great helper. We are building a home, this allows one person to do all the elevation work. The sounding device makes it relatively easy to know when the beam is on the marker. The self leveling is quick. Even though the unit is light weight, it seems well made. The battery compartments are tight-- it did include the batteries needed to operate the thing and the case makes it easy to carry everything included. I bought this and put it right to work. I use it on the average, once a week.. The batteries (2 D batteries) it came with, didn't last an hour. Once I put new energizers in it, I haven't had to change them yet. It's been over a month. I originally had a DeWalt manual level laser. When it went bad I called a DeWalt service center, he advise me "off the record" to buy this one. It was "the best bang for the buck". I paid $380.00. To fix my old one it would have been $200.00. And this new one is auto level! When you turn this baby on, you can hear the gears spinning/leveling for about 3-5 seconds, then voala! I tested it out of level as well. If it's knocked out of level, it stops, re-levels and then continues. The only problem this posses, is if it's knocked too far off, and you don't notice, you might throw all your new measurements off because it won't have the same zero as your original mark... Anyway, over all, a big fat 5! Saves tons more time over the old one, and I actually have learned to like the D batteries over the rechargeables due to not having to worry about extra charged batteries. The energizer D batts are the way to go! ... show more

I have a regular transit and I haven't checked to see how level this thing really levels itself yet, but for everything I've had to do it has work fantastic, it works just like it should. I'm not an engineer so I don't know what kind of sophisticated electronic engineering went into this bad boy, it seems like it might be overpriced, but it does exactly what I want it to do, and it was the most affordable one I could find that I might actually trust to do the job. It levels itself in seconds and starts spinning. In the daylight I can't see the laser, but the included sensor picks up the line just fine, and the beep is loud enough to hear fine over the sound of a running backhoe. (its pretty darn loud) Works fine inside a building, wish it had a remote to turn it on and off. ... show more

    • Outstanding tool for the money.
Lightweight, portable, accurate, reasonably priced. Carrying case works well. I've used heavy duty rotary lasers that were very expensive. This one is plastic and not as tough but will do the job just as well as the pricey ones. Just be careful not to drop it and keep it very clean. Should last forever. Runs on D batteries which is great. Used it to set forms and grade footings on several jobs so far and it has worked out well. Price is reasonable. ... show more
