I have a pretty good assortment of Dewalt gear. Having said this, depending on what I am doing the batteries need frequent charging. This is a good long-life battery but be mindful of what you put it in. If you are using this with an impact driver, it will get VERY heavy. I tend to use this in a floor light or a heavier piece of equipment which I need the battery power/life for, not on the lighter tools which I am holding above my head all day. ... show more

    • Best battery for tools like the DEWALT 120V Max 12" compound sliding miter saw.
There are a few battery powered tools in DEWALT's lineup which draw a large amount of current. This greatly decreases the run-time between battery swaps while using the tools. One example is the 120V MAX 12" compound sliding miter saw. That saw is insanely powerful, but it comes at the price of frequent battery swaps compared to other DEWALT tools. The fact that it uses 2 batteries at once to yield 120 Volts, means you need to bring twice as many fully-charged spares along to keep it running non-stop. Well, I can confirm that these batteries make a huge difference. I can now use the saw on and off all day long by installing a pair of these batteries. The 9Ah batteries were pretty good, but these are significantly better. Of course, at this price, they should be. That's the only drawback of picking up some of these batteries. The cost is admittedly nutty, but I must say it was worth it to get 33% more runtime than the 9Ah offered. With the extended run time, you don't need to carry as many batteries along, either. Amazingly, the quick charger seems like it can charge a set of these in about the same time it charged the 9Ah batteries. Logic tells me that couldn't possibly be true, and perhaps I'm wrong, but it sure seems like it. If you are sitting there considering these batteries because the 9Ah batteries just aren't big enough to get you through a day, you should just click "Buy." Last forever. I run multiple jobsite fans on 60-80% power using these and they run for 10 hours plus. I have 4 of these and they charge quickly on a12 amp DeWalt quick charger but then again I never let the batteries go below 2 lights on the charge indicator on the batteries. I also use them on my leaf blower and lasted me a good 45 min before I started to get nervous about the charge level. Really depends on how long you go full bore with the blower. ... show more

Died, and DEWALT voided the 3-year warranty over the Amazon sellerReview 1 star because this $200+ FLEXVOLT pack quit charging, and the 3-year DEWALT warranty I bought it for was worthless.I purchased a DCB612 sold as new. It arrived in original DEWALT packaging. I bought DEWALT instead of a cheap aftermarket pack specifically for the advertised 3-year warranty.The battery stopped charging. I sent DEWALT the Amazon receipt. They confirmed the seller was Industrial Tools, said that seller is not an authorized DEWALT retailer, and refused replacement. Amazon then said I was outside the return window.So you can buy a DEWALT-boxed battery on Amazon, have it fail, and get told:DEWALT: wrong Amazon seller, no warranty Amazon: too late to return Check the Sold by line before you buy. I had this battery 2 months and barley used it before it went completely junk and wouldn’t take a charge, it has one light that lights up when you push the button but has no power to run tools and I couldn’t get any help from DeWalt customer service so I cut my losses and threw it away.

I was lucky enough to buy mine when is was on sale for about $160, which was a deal to me. Ordinarilly they are still a bit pricey for what you get (you can often find a 2 pack of the 9ah DCB609s for the same price or less). But cost aside it is an impressive battery. You can run a smaller compact tool for days, or I can get a full weekned of on/off use with the table saw. It also gets me extra cuts on the chainsaw. With a 9ah as a back up, I can cut sun up to sun down charging batteries at beer breaks. ... show more

This is very expensive, but I no longer have to walk back to the house to swap batteries when using the weedwacker or blower. I didnt want to carry extra batteries in a back pack and this was an excellent solution.
