Description

The DEWALT DCV517B 20V MAX Cordless 1/2 gal Wet/Dry Portable Vac - Bare tool is great for general jobsite clean up, with a HEPA system allows fine dust clean up like drywall and masonry. The HEPA wet/dry filter traps 99.97% of dust at 0.3 microns. This is a washable filter that can be cleaned with a tap water rinse to clean. It has dual clean-up modes which allow for debris removal with either the front utility nozzle or with an extendable heavy duty rubber hose that provides durability and flexibility. The 1/2 gallon tank with heavy-duty latch is easy to empty and clean. Large on/off switch that is easy to access with one hand and runs off of 20V Max DEWALT battery packs for long run-time (battery sold separately). Includes: (1) DCV515B 1/2 gal Vac.

I do hvac, and installing any unit inside the apartment or house gets messy, so having a compact vacuum is definitely helpful. I've put in 2x up to 5x batteries and they've all fit without issue, I have yet to try the 6x battery in it though. I get what other people are saying where the intake could be a little more powerful but hey, it beats having to haul around those huge round vacuums that take up a ton of space in the truck and work area. Ive also read that people dislike that the hose isnt that maneuverable and only has about a foot or two of play, but the whole point of this thing is its compactness so id say you can cut it a little slack on that. The little filter in it is fairly easy to clean, I'm pretty certain they're washable but I usually just give it a couple good wacks on the floor and all the dust and other junk comes out and it makes the filter look good as new again. Overall for the price, I'd say this is definitely worth the money and I would definitely recommend this to other workers.. (just make sure you write your name on it and all that, hate to say it but I'm sure other people would love to take this off you) ... show more

    • Wanted a water vacuum to get the water out of my large drip pans without having to lift the pots!

I have two great big pots out front and are on the automatic sprinkler system but the problem is the drip pans fill up so fast and we are always having to lift the heavy pots....quickly remove the drip pan...empty it out on the grass and as we get older simple things like this can be a chore. This makes it much easier on the back and less mess. I also like that I don't have to throw the vacuum away just because the battery wears out...much like other small hand vacs...they should make them so we can replace the batteries!! I bought the 1 1/4" attachment set from Amazon so I have more options of areas I can clean...like hard to reach places in the car between the seats or my computer keyboard. Also handy to use to defrost our garage freezer....especially to get into tight spaces that collects water! ... show more

Honestly I think this thing looks goofy and wasn’t expecting a lot. The shape actually works quite well. You can pull the hose out and get in tight spots or use the wider end for bigger areas. I typically keep this in my pick up for camping and use it to clean up the sand and junk I drag in on my feet. I just returned from a five week trip camping in the desert and despite using it frequently I never had to change or charge a small 2.0 Ah battery. I’d buy it again if I needed to. ... show more

So this is great, so easy to clean up small messes around the house from spilled flour to flys in the window sill. Only problem is while you are cleaning up the exhaust air constantly blows towards the floor, thereby move away dirt and dust you really wanted to suck up. Just not a great design.
