Frequently asked questions

No, the 'Tool Only' in the title indicates that the Dewalt DCS781B 60V MAX Brushless Lithium-Ion 12 in. Cordless Double Bevel Sliding Miter Saw doesn't come with a battery or charger. These should be purchased separately.

The sliding feature allows the saw to make wider cuts. With the 12 inch sliding miter saw, users can make longer cuts which wouldn’t be possible with a non-sliding miter saw.

The Double Bevel means that the saw can tilt to the left and right to make angled cuts without needing to flip your workpiece. This feature enhances the ease of use, especially when making complex cuts for activities like framing or crown molding.

Yes, the Dewalt Miter Saw is brushless. This means it has a motor that is electronically-controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run-time per charge. It also increases the life span of the tool since there are fewer components that wear out.

  • DeWalt doesn't stand behind their saws
DeWalt has a known issue where if you plug in these saws instead of using the batteries it can fry the motor. If everything is DeWalt and it makes the motor pop to the tune of $325, that's on DeWalt, at least to my way of thinking. Well DeWalt disagrees, and so that's where I (and you should) part ways with them. If your tool malfunctions when it's being used the way it's supposed to be used, AND IT'S AN ISSUE KNOWN BY THE MANUFACTURER, that's on the manufacturer, not on working stiffs who rely on these tools to earn their living. Convince me I'm wrong. ... show more

  • Cut line LED precision and work space light, blade brake, angled direct drive, cordless power
Great for a truck/van saw. I have a Transit 250 high roof extended work van and have the sliding door side set up as a saw stand bench with storage underneath with this saw mounted on a 3/4" piece of plywood with slots in it on top of the bench top so I can pull it toward me away from the side of the van and work projects on the job or at home if need be. It's great for working in the rain, or when I have to go back to the job for punch out items. I also have a cordless vacuum hooked up to it to capture most of the dust. A blower for blowing out the van after use tidy's things up well. I have the DWS780 for my jobsite saw (for many years), but this makes it very convenient for those few cuts needed at various times. It stays in the truck, always ready to be used. I got mine at a Home Depot as a never used display item on sale, so I got mine with the 9ah battery for well under 400.00 with my military discount. I am quite pleased with it ... show more

  • DeWalt Is An Extortionist Company
DeWalt should've equipped this unit with an optional 120VAC plug-in feature JUST LIKE THE DHS790. They want to FORCE customers to buy more batteries!! I'm skipping this model...
