I needed to cut some 3/4" melamine MDF. This blade was perfect for the job. First lay down some blue painters tape over the cut line. Next make a surface cut about 1/4" deep going very slowly. Then do the final full depth cut, again, going very slowly. This method resulted in almost no shattering of the melamine surface. So thrilled because everyone made it sound like a nightmare to do but it was in fact very easy with this method. ... show more

I give it 4 stars simply because the description if incorrect. The blade is described as having a "Diamond Knockout Arbor". Nothing could be further from the truth. It has a simple 5/8" hole for a simple 5/8" arbor. Nothing more. I suspect the description was copied and pasted from a similar product made by Irwin. The Irwin blade has a knock out diamond arbor. But whoever pasted the description for this blade obviously is lazy and lacks sufficient knowledge of saw blades to check the details. Too bad as it makes Amazon look like the purveyors lies. ... show more

It's ok. Used it on my old worm drive Skil saw. Rip cuts on 3/4 inch maple veneer plywood are great. Cross cuts on the same maple veneer plywood are not great. Significant tearout on the veneer when crosscutting. Using blue tape helps some, scoring veneer with utility knife plus tape helps more but some tearout still occurs. I will try a more expensive blade in the future for veneered plywood. The picture shows without tape (bottom), with tape (middle) and with tape AND scoring (top). I would not use this for crosscuts on veneer unless you know you are going to put a molding at the joint. I don't know about the smoke comments others had. I had no issue with that. ... show more
