In the world of half-inch-drive cordless impacts, this thing is an absolute beast. It will shake the heck out of your arm, and it's more than a little bit heavy, but when it goes into overdrive at about four seconds after you pull the trigger to Full On Send It ALL, either something's coming off or something's coming apart, and it's not the wrench. I don't think I would want to try to do heavy-truck lug nuts with it (that's one-inch territory, thank you very much) but for anything up to a one-ton dually, if this doesn't get the job done, grab the cheater pipe or the torch. ... show more

As an automotive mechanic, do you really need this? No. Do you want it? Yes. RPM is on the lower end, but the hammer is so absurdly huge that it will break loose even the most insanely rusted garbage axle nuts pretty quickly. Even as a bigger dude, this thing is so heavy that it gets old pretty quick using it to just break lug nuts loose. Totally not necessary for that sort of work; the first tightening setting is pointless with a tool this huge and heavy (my Durofix 12v 1/2" impact will tighten lug nuts quicker and at a better torque level), a second or so on the secondary setting leaves most lug nuts a little loose (which is a good thing if you don't lower the vehicle all the way before torqueing). Third setting and the studs aren't going to be very happy. Got the whole kit for $250 so of course I'm pretty pleased with it. Basically got a Thor-tier impact for $100. ... show more

Like others have said, its powerful, big n heavy and if it dont come loose, it will break it off. I had to use a 3/8" reducer the other day because a 1/2" impact socket wouldnt fit in my sisters wheel, it twisted it off like it was from Harbor Freight. Good price and had it in a couple days.
