This is an awesome RC car for the price and the best one we've found for kids. My son received the same one as a gift and after abusing it for 6 months we decided to get it for my nephew. They both love it. Do not hesitate to buy this RC car especially if it's around $50. It's at least 20x better than one from a big box store and only about 2.5x the cost. We've received about 5 other RC cars over the years and they all last a couple months before they get recycled or donated because they break or the kids get bored of them. This one is a keeper and very durable. If it breaks because you launch it off a small cliff then you can repair it like a real RC car. We've jumped off tables, banks, gone through deep puddles, etc and it's just a little scratched. The battery lasts a lot longer than I expected it would and because it comes with two of them you're pretty much good for 20-30 minutes of straight driving. It usually lasts my kids about an hour because they drive it around and then stop and build jumps or make a course. I usually put it on the low speed or medium speed for the kids because it's fast enough and extends the battery life. The top speed is so fast that it might explode if driven into a curb with a direct shot and at the maximum speed. There are other similar RC cars online for a little less, but from my research most of those are not 4 wheel drive like this one. Because it is a real RC car and not a cheap toy it has features of a real RC car. For example the power button is located underneath the body and you need to remove the body (4 pins) and turn it on and then replace the body. The battery is also anchored to the RC car with this fairly stiff latch. While these features are inconvenient they serve the purpose of protecting these two key components from impact and weather. The battery latch is very stiff at first, but there is a trick to it, and after a few times of replacing the battery you'll get the hang of it. ... show more

After wanting a hobby grade RC car since I was a kid, I could not believe the price and ratings this one was getting so I thought I’d give it a shot. It is simply amazing fun for the price. Will definitely have you catching the RC car hobby bug (upgrades, mods, faster, bigger, more tricks!) Fast enough to be adult fun, but can be slowed down with an adjustment knob on the remote for young and novice drivers. Thing is tough too, I think it being 1:18 scale helps with this too, just doesn’t generate the same forces 1:10 scale bigger and heavier cars do. I read reviews of 1:10th scale $500 cars that break constantly, but I can’t believe the abuse I’ve put this through and it just keeps trucking. I had kind of always wanted the traditional 1:10th scale size RC car, but I have no regrets going smaller. In some ways I think these smaller cars are more fun, scale speed is faster (even if overall they are not that fast). 20 mph feels faster in a small car than 20 mph in a bigger one. Has me already looking at other (yes, faster) cars in this same size. Ones I would never have looked at before because they weren’t the larger 1:10th scale. Also like that not as much space is required to still have fun. Want to bash in a smaller parking lot, smaller driveway, or even maybe a basement? These smaller cars the way to go. Don’t need as much room to open them up. Spare parts may be an issue (haven’t had to try to get any as nothing has broke, so I don’t know for sure), but at this price buy two cars….one for your main ride and one as a “parts donor”! The only slight disappointment is the cheap all plastic shocks it comes with. They will get you by though just to have some fun, but an upgrade will make all the difference in the world in terms of handling and making this car feel (and look) like a way more expensive car than it is. Found a pair of replacement all metal oil shocks on Amazon that fit this perfect for about $15. The listing did not say that they fit this model specifically but they were made for other 1:18th scale cars and they ended up working out fine with just the slightest modification. Totally worth it. If you’re wanting to get back into the hobby or get into it for the first time, this is definitely the way to go. This thing is fast! It’s powerful enough to zip across carpeting and almost too fast for inside the house. At full speed a sharp turn will roll the car over. Luckily the control has trim controls and you’re able to tune down the throttle. My dogs love it. It’s super fun for them to chase it and my little dogs have to run at full speed just to keep up. The batteries are powerful and long lasting. You get plenty of play time per charge. I will echo two small complaints. You have to remove the body to turn the car on/off and change the battery. Changing the battery can be a bit challenging. If you are buying this for your kids, be prepared to help them change the battery every time. ... show more

Bought this for my daughter's birthday present. Of course ol dad tested it out early, to make sure it works and fully charge the batteries 😐. It is awesome. I love how you can adjust the speed on the remote and adjust the steering on the remote. It goes slow so young ones just starting out with this type of controller can learn how to steer it and you can speed it up with progression. It can go very fast, 4x4 works, can drive straight and turns well. Good buy for the price, feels good in hand. Feel like the shell might break and the bumper it you smash hard but we'll see.
