Nothing lasts for ever. But it did worked for my 2004 Mustang Base model. About 4 1/2 years after it was only leaking, went through 2 qt of fluid per year after that it was worth it. Would I buy again honestly no. I purchased one at Autozone. Cost more but with life time warranty.

Update 9/29/21: It has been 3 years since I installed this part. No leaks or issues. -- Original post -- Perfect fit for a 2002 Mustang v6. Installed it 1 year ago, ~4000 miles. Still working! I also purchased a set of prothane bushings. The unit I received came with OEM soft rubber bushings but I wanted a tighter steering. Installation was a bit more difficult than I expected, but that's not the fault of this part. The difficulty I faced was reconnecting the power steering lines to the rack and tightening them sufficiently. There just isn't much room to work with, so be prepared to take your time and do it right, or have a professional mechanic install it. ... show more

I ordered this part the end of May, 2021 and inspected it for external damage and found none. As I prepared to install it I found internal damage, the threads are pulled on the housing and unable to connect high pressure fitting. If they had actually tested this part as they say they did, they would have found damage with the threads in the housing in the pressure and return port, you can see the metal shavings. Due to COVID conditions my customer was unable to bring his car back until August to have me install this part so we missed the return window. They did offer us a warranty replacement (we pay shipping and a restocking fee) but why waste the time and the money on such a poorly rebuilt part. ... show more

Direct bolt on to my Mustang 2004 3.9 v6 . I was surprised when I received it . I notice it’s an original ford steering rack when I found the serial number and ford emblem in the rack . My cars steering has improve a lot . I highly recommend this steering rack great for the price and a direct fit.

I guess it would have been to easy to build the replacement the same as the original part. There was a reason that Ford routed the external lines like they did. The motor mount would have been the reason. The replacement part had the line running right into the Motor mount plate. Easy to solve right? Just use the original line from the old unit. Yea that won’t work either because the line fittings are not the same size or type. ... show more
