  • Already paid for itself!
Love this peice of equipment! A great addition to my tool box at work. I work on horizontal drilling equipment, skid-steers, and trenchers for a living and this endoscope had paid for itself on the first use. Camera and picture quality is fantastic. A must have in your tool box.

  • Helped find out where my cables went
I used this product to search for where some mystery cables went in my wall. I have an older WiFi version that works pretty well, but having the screen on the system makes for a better solution (turn it on and use it). Overall I am very impressed with the quality and ease of use of this system. Screen I am impressed with the screen, I really wasn't expecting much from the included screen, but it is probably the same screen they use for the 4K version so the pixel density is very good and brightness/contrast is great. Looks as good as most modern smartphones. I mostly used it indoors but it seems to look ok in the sun too. The menu is very simple and the buttons are pretty easy to deal with. Effectively you have a single press for one item and a long press for the secondary item. The front buttons for + and - function as the light intensity and also the "switch camera" and "flip image" buttons. It is nice to be able to get to these quickly without going through a menu. Same with access to the image/video switch button on the side, it is easy to access. Main Camera The main camera, despite being only 1080p, is really quite good. I could get pretty good detail within 4" of the lens and could probably do better adjusting the light intensity. By good I mean I could read the writing on the cable in my wall pretty well. The camera will require some occasional cleaning because the outer housing extends beyond the lens to protect it from scratches (I assume) so it will sometimes collect debris. Most of the time debris will fall off with a light shake though. Most of the cleaning for me was from me touching the lens and getting oil on it which will degrade the image quality pretty quickly. I was wiping it down before each use for the best image quality. Side Camera I wasn't sure about this camera, but in practice it is very handy. With my old camera I would often need to pull back the camera and add a bend to get a view of what I needed. With the side camera you can just turn it on and rotate the unit to see what is 90 degrees to the side. This is really helpful when you are at a dead end and need to look around for where to go next. It seemed that I couldn't read cables quite as easily with the side camera, but this camera is still a valuable feature to have for tight spaces. Overall it think it is a great endoscope. It is a cool gadget that helped me not need to tear open a wall to figure out where the previous owner had run an HDMI cable to. Mystery solved! It did come with a few attachments: a hook and a magnet. Both attachments seem pretty useful for grabbing small items that may have fallen out of reach. It also came with a nice case that seems durable enough to keep it safe. Some upcoming uses will include checking exterior house holes to verify that rodents don't have access and exploring the empty space between two rooms. I also may try to use the magnet to grab a key that fell between the slats of my deck. ... show more

  • Useful but not the big thing
The extension cord is very long but that is not very useful if you can not control or handling it just up to 4 feet. Also, the LED is hard to illuminate the path you are interested in, because if any obstacle is closer to the camera then the LED will illuminate this obstacle but darken the path away. However this device helps a bit in many occasions. ... show more

  • Great to inspect inside car engines
Buying a used car and wanted to make sure oil changes have not been neglected. Inserted scope into oil pan/sump and valve covers to verify absence of sludge or scoring of cams. Worked great!

  • Works well
Wish I'd had one sooner. Very helpful for seeing inside walls, fishing of low voltage / network cabling. Tips: camera tip has a threaded end for attaching a hook or other attachment. By default it is covered by a threaded sleeve to protect the threads: consider adding loc-tight. I nearly lost it more than once. Unless your use is brief, charge it when finished. Unlikely to get more than one or two sessions on a charge. That said, if you have a power source or battery pack, can charge it while in use. Case is nice, but space for cable means coiling it to 5" diameter, which means quite a bit of uncoiling (reforming) to get it reasonably straight for feeding into some space. For the price, can't beat it. Very satisfied. ... show more

  • Picture quality not awesome, but it works well enough.
Focus is non-adjustable so you have to fiddle around a bit in order to get a usable picture in tight spaces. The quality of the pictures/screengrabs I took seems to be worse than what you see in the live view. I use it for engines mostly. It allows me to assess the condition of internal components in a minute or two, rather than hours to disassemble. The side camera is invaluable for cylinder inspection, as it allows you to see the valves. A good deal overall! First picture is of the inside of a pontoon (yay no water intrusion) and the second is a split front/side shot of the inside of a marine engine cylinder, top of piston on the left and open valve on the right. (was a clean engine outside but seawater in the cylinders) ... show more
