I really like the concept of this tool - being able to take along a not-too-big, not-to-small level INSIDE your toolkit. Although it can take a little bit of playing with to get it to unfold perfectly – or near perfectly – flat, it’s not unmanageable. It helps to have a flat surface nearby to press it against once unfolded to get it to that near perfectly flat space. The bubbles are very easy to read with the medium dark blue fluid in the vials. There are two top-side bubbles – one at each end – and a 45 degree and a 90 degree bubble also in the level. The problem with having two of the same bubbles on the level (the two top-side bubbles) is that it’s easy to see if they are the same or not. And in the case of the level I received, there was a slight variance between the two. When used on my countertop, one of the bubbles was telling me that the countertop was dead-on level while the other was telling me that there was a 32nd inch difference over the span of the level. This will be a very handy tool to use but I’ll likely be restricting it to non-critical uses such as railings, fence posts, decking, etc. For items such as countertops, however, I’ll stick with a laser level. ... show more

This is a cool concept for having a level that is easy to carry in your toolbox. When folded it's only about 6x5 inches and when unfolded it's about 28 inches long. In the unfolded position, I checked it's accuracy for both the horizontal and vertical bubbles by checking a surface that showed as level and then rotating the level 180 degrees and checking it again to ensure it says the same thing. Everything was accurate for those bubbles; I didn't have a convenient way to easily verify the 45 degree bubble. It has 2 horizontal bubbles, one vertical bubble, and one 45 degree bubble. I noticed that when folded the 2 horizontal bubbles do not agree with each other (see photo), but when unfolded they do agree, so there is obviously something off in some of the hinges when it is folded. This is unfortunate since this would be very handy for checking small spaces (such as between wall studs) ... show more

    • Cool Idea
The idea behind this level is awesome. Not sure the execution of that idea went perfectly. When folded, there are inconsistencies in the horizontal bubbles. Thankfully, they do match up once level is unfolded. So far, we have only used it as a long, flat level. We used it to put in a new mailbox and it did perfectly. I'm looking forward to using it on an angle to see how it does. I expect it to perform well. When it's new, the hinges are very stiff and it's hard to unfold. This seems to have lightened up over time and usage. I couldn't completely unfold it myself when we first got it. Now I can. Level seems very sturdy and durable and made with quality. ... show more

This level is a neat idea, and it's nice to be able to bring such a long level everywhere. The level doesn't unfold easily and is difficult to get straight. I find that the bubbles on either end aren't consistent with each other, so I'm not sure if level is when the left one says it's level, the right one says it's level, or somewhere in the middle between them. It's a really cool idea. I bet they could make it just a little bit better/more consistent, and this product would be perfect. ... show more

The joints in my level were very stiff and difficult to move and to straighten this level out for testing. Once straight I was able to observe some inconsistency between the two horizontal vials. I know that this isn't a Starrett or the like, so I'm not going to judge too harshly and it's probably good enough for most people. Perhaps I just got a lemon. Even so, I think it will be very useful in the shop and around the house, especially when transferring level between uneven surfaces. This isn't a tool I really needed, but now that i have it I think I will use it more often than expected. If you have a need for transferring level across uneven surfaces and can't use a laser then this is a good alternative. ... show more

I got this to keep in my indoor toolbox for when I don’t want to have to run to the garage. For the purposes I use it for, it works great. Having the ability to fold it and store it in a small space is great but unfolding it can be a pain as it is VERY stiff at the joints, thus the removal of one star. Overall though I think it is a great purchase if you need a longer level but have a small amount of storage. ... show more
