  • Must have
Ok I don’t know where to start but I will try and make it short and sweet. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I love love this smith machine and the customer service was outstanding. This machine completed my home gym. You can do anything and everything on it. I mostly got it for leg workouts but you can do chest shoulders everything. I shared some pictures just to give you an idea. I also did not use the springs that come with it so I can go lower with the bar for my hip thrusts. When I first got the machine I had a little problem with it after it was put together. First of all I did add the springs and I did not like it because the bar did not go low enough for hip thrusts or dead lifts. I’m only 5’2” so I needed more room so I removed them. The issue I had after my husband and put the machine together was that the bar did not balance out with the hooks. One side was higher than the other and it was not very smooth. I emailed the company and they got back to me in less than a day. They tried to figure out the issue but since they could not see what was wrong they shipped me a new bar and connectors. They shipped it FedEx so I got it within 3 days. After putting the new bar in and connectors the machine works absolutely amazing. I am so super happy with it. Putting it together was not hard at all. My husband is very handy so it was not a problem at all. Very good instructions. It took me a very long time to choose a smith machine but I’m so glad I chose this one even though it did not have more than one review. I also love this one because it has a pull up bar that I also use for my TRX band, hanging ab workouts and pull ups. The bar alone after its all put together weighs 70lbs so if you are a girl when you do bench presses you will not need much weight. I know this bench will last for a very long time. It is very strong and sturdy. I really love it for my leg workouts. I am a NPC bikini competitor and it has helped me grow my glutes and legs. I can’t believe that there aren’t many review for this machine so I wanted to make sure that I wrote a review. It is so worth the money. And again, the customer service is amazing. This is a must have machine. I would give it 10 stars if I could but it only allows me to give it 5. Don’t hesitate to purchase it. You will love it. I am so thankful to have been able to order it before this pandemic started because right now I know that with the gyms closed and it’s so hard to get any equipment on line but if you can get your hands on this smith machine don’t wait. Enjoy your workouts. ... show more

  • Great Value
I waited to write a review until after I used it a bit. Assembly: Make sure you watch the YouTube videos versus trying to use the printed instructions. I purchased the smith press and a lat attachment. It took me a few hours to assemble everything. Squats: This is why you would buy a smith press, so you can squat a decent amount of weight and not kill yourself. This machine is a little different than the ones you would use at the gym. This bar weighs more than a 45lb olympic bar. The smith presses at a gym, the bar is weight assisted so it weighs much less. After you make adjustments, it feels the same as the ones at a gym. Lunges: You can do these on a smith press by dropping your leg back and bending your front leg. Not fun but effective. Bench: You need to purchase a bench separately for this. Just another way to exercise your chest. Worthwhile because the more different ways you can complete an exercise, the better. Military press: I like the smith press for military press. You need to complete the exercise sitting but it takes the stress off your lower back. Upright rows: I love the smith press for upright rows. Calf raises: You'll need to purchase a step but this is one of the best pieces of equipment to use to perform calf raises. Your other alternative is a calf machine that would seem to be a huge waste of money for just one body part. You could use a leg press but it won't be as good as a smith press with a step. Rows: Again, just another effective way to exercise your back. Pull ups: The bar is too low for my taste but it's good for stretching your upper body and hanging straps from. With the lat attachment and 200lb weight stack: Lat pull downs: This is a little bit wonky. You have to sit on a bench and once you add a decent amount of weight, you're going to feel your butt leaving the seat. You could add the chain (included) and kneel but you have to look out for the side supports. What I did was add a pad to the bar and rest that on my thighs while I complete the lat pulls. Curls: At first I was disappointed because there seemed no way I could stand up to perform these because the weight stack would run out of room on the the rails before I could complete the exercise. I completed the curls sitting down and purchased a preacher pad that I could rest on my thighs, which is a little awkward. But, if you add the section of chain (included) between the hook and whatever you're using for a bar, you can stand. Rows: I bought a metal handle to use for this. You can bend over and do one arm at a time and it works well. Triceps extension: I'm still getting used to this. It works better with the chain, although you could do it without. Sturdiness: The machine is very sturdy, especially if you store your excess weights on the rear supports. With the lat attachment, bench, and extra handles, I spent less than 2k and have everything I ever wanted for my home gym. Oh, a part was missing when it first arrived. I called their customer service number and was able to speak to a real person who sent the part priority mail and it arrived in a couple days. Later, I called the same number to order the lat attachment with a 200lb weight stack. Seems like a great company. ... show more

  • It’s a solid piece of equipment
It’s very heavy compared to a commercial gym smith machine. There is not nearly as much resistance. Personally, I prefer this though.

  • This machine delivers action!
I love the commercial gym machine quality that I get when using this equipment. The vertical bearing system gives the true feeling of “free weight lifting” on any vertical lift exercise; bench press, barbell squats, and triceps rack-lockouts to mention a few. Assembly is extremely easy, although, cheap wrenches are provided to complete the job, I recommend that you use a 19mm and a 17mm socket and a ratchet to help with fast and easy tightening. Don’t tighten any of the bolts until the whole unit has been assembled. Use a level to align the guide rods and the provided Allen wrench to tighten the screws on the top and the bottom of the base. The whole process requires two people working together. The smith bar and the guide rod collars have a total weight of 60Lbs. Consider this information when you calculate the total weight that you want to lift or press on your workout program. This is an excellent product. Enjoy it! ... show more
