Description

Delta Dust containing is the world's first and only 100% waterproof insecticide dust, so it works in the wet and damp places that insects love. Nothing short of running water will disturb Delta Dust, making Delta Dust an ideal crack and crevice treatment. Delta Dust should be applied with a bellows hand duster (sold separately) which allows you to easily apply the dust in hard to reach areas. One application of Delta Dust will keep on killing insects for up to eight months. DELTADUST Application Tips: Delta Dust is intended for application with a hand or power duster (ACTi sol DPA or similar equipment), with a paint brush or by other suitable means, for hiding and runaway areas and other places where insects are found. In living areas, apply in such a manner as to avoid depositions on exposed surfaces or introducing the material into the air. In the home, all food processing surfaces and utensils should be covered during treatment or thoroughly washed before use. Exposed food should be covered or removed. To apply insecticide directly into cracks and crevices, use a bulbous duster or other suitable equipment. Apply lightly and uniformly to infested area. Pay particular attention to: cracks and crevices, service ducts, floors and ceilings, wall voids, around electrical and telephone fittings and equipment, around water and sewer pipes, under and behind cabinets, refrigerators and sinks, around windows and door frames, along baseboards, in attics and crawl spaces. The amount to be applied will vary with the site but should usually be in the range of 2-3 grams of Delta Dust per square yard (or 0. 5 lbs. per 1000 square feet). Proper Dusting Tips: When applying, the duster should be filled only halfway - no more than two-thirds full. This allows for adequate air space to create the desired air/dust mixture prior to application. If there is too much dust in the duster, clumps of dust on treated surfaces may result, leading to over application of the product and messy spills. Between each squeeze, the duster should be shaken slightly to get dust floating inside the unit. When applying dust into cracks and crevices and on surfaces, gently squeeze the duster to ensure the application of very thin layers of dust. When dusting correctly, you should barely be able to see the dust emerging from the tip of the duster. Before relaxing your grip on the duster, pull it away from the surface or crack you are treating to prevent sucking up lint, moisture or debris. Small amounts of these items will eventually cause lumping and/or clogging of the duster. Place several pebbles or small ball bearings in your duster to keep the dust agitated and ensure than any clumps are broken up prior to application. Also, always keep the screen inside the duster in place as this is designed to help maintain a fine dust consistency. When treating around electrical outlets, use dusters fitted with plastic or fiberglass spouts, or place a small section of rubber hose or plastic tubing over the metal tip to avoid contacting electrical wires. These tubes will also enable you to reach around corners and beneath cabinet voids that would otherwise be impossible to treat. Carry a small brush and a damp cloth. These can be used in the event that dust accidentally drifts out of cracks and crevices and onto non-target areas. Use the brush to push excess dust into cracks, and use the cloth to wipe up.

  • Works but you have to give it time.
As others mentioned, this product worked for me but you have to give it time. At first the bees just laughed at this an walked all over it. I thought the product was a bust. I kept dusting the whole and in about 2 weeks no more bees in soffit. Be patient it works, just give it time. And definitely get a duster. ... show more

  • Works great for in-ground yellowjackets. I recommend watching Freddy the Frog's review video.
First, watch Freddy the Frog's excellent customer video. A key takeway from his video: - This does NOT instantly knock wasps out of the air like Raid does, so while he did his video in the day for the sake of visibility purposes, he's also wearing a full beekeeper outfit. Since I'd wager most folks do NOT own that getup, you will want to do this at dusk. Even at dusk, the wasps will start coming out of their hole after a few puffs, but I've found they were not really good at getting airborne once the dust gets on them (but fair warning to expect that so you don't panic, and you may want to be ready to high tail it out of there) My other tips: - While a bulb duster is recommended, I've had luck using it right from the bottle as the two nests I've taken out with this were right against the foundation of my house in old rodent holes so were easily accessible. A bulb duster may be mandatory if they are in a harder to reach location such as a wall or ceiling where you aren't aided by gravity. - Gloves and mask are recommended since it is a very fine powder (think talcum / baby powder). I'd also not recommend using if it's windy that evening. A flashlight will do, but a head lamp is even better to keep both hands free. - The two nests I've killed with Delta dust took two treatments on a first and second evening. Maybe a more generous 1st application may have done it in one, but as noted in point #1, I did not want to linger too long once they started coming out. These have succeeded definitively taking out ground nests where an entire can of Raid/Spectracide failed to wipe them out over multiple nights of applications. Now for ground wasps I skip right to the Delta dust and leave Raid sprays for just the smaller / higher up paper wasp nests. ... show more

  • Takes Time
Realistically, I used this straight from the squeeze bottle for two weeks, hitting the nest in the house siding once a day after dark. It took that long for the Delta Dust to eliminate the nest-not sure why people are saying 24-48 hours.

  • Yellow Jackets! Takes forever but gets the job done!
I read numerous reviews and struggled with the results people were getting. Some love it some hate it. I knew can after can of foam doesn’t work. I gave it a try. I can tell you I had..had, some well established hives in my front and back soffits. They have been there for at least 4 years. Every spring they were back at work. One month ago I purchased this product and diligently treated the cracks and crevices of my soffits. Daily sometimes. They would find another crevice, I would fill it with dust. These bees are resilient and at times seemed immune to the white coating they had. Two weeks in, I’m thinking this stuff doesn’t work either. Slowly, there seemed to be less traffic at the hive and a month later I finally see no activity! I continually treated the area for the entire month and although I seemed to have lost numerous battles, I won the war! Stay persistent and this stuff works! If I called an exterminator, they could have removed my soffit and done it in one day, but it can be a DYI. I stuck the nozzle in the holes in broad daylight and puffed away. Be careful but the bees coming out are covered in dust and totally disoriented, but plenty of time to get back! At that moment the bees are not interested in you, but get back! Let them settle and hammer-’em again! Eventually the hive will be so thinned of workers it ceases to exist! WA LAA! GONE! 1 month and one day no more yellow jackets! P.S. this stuff works within two days when drying up other insects (ants, spiders, etc), but yellow jackets are a different animal, stay persistent! ... show more

  • This is NOT a quick knock down killer...
I used this along with a popular duster to get behind the brick face on my home to reach a yellowjacket nest. This product works but it took several trips working late night while the wasps are in the nesting area. This product does NOT kill the Yellowjackets on contact. It takes several hours/days for it to actually kill the yellowjackets. Patience and several applications are the keys to success using this product. ... show more

  • Highly recommends! Saved hundreds on exterminator.
Used this along with spray recommended and worked great! Saved us hundreds of dollars compared to using exterminator! Three years ago, we had a hornet nest/hive in our old block foundation. Called exterminator and though they were great and resolved the issue, we paid over 600$ to resolve issue. 2023-This product along with the spray recommended, we tackled a new hive in block work for about 60$ in three days! Truly a blessing! Bees/hornets find the tiniest of holes and create havoc, thanks to these products homeowners have a chance w/out high cost. We still have product left in case we have an issue again! Best of luck and thank you for making this product available for homeowners! ... show more

  • Works, even for Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are the absolute worst pest to encounter. Unlike roaches which are hard to get rid of too, bed bugs like to get up close and personal. It is AWFUL staying up at night waiting for them to come after you and your family. I don't react to the bites but my daughter does and I was devastated when I realized what was happening. As a loving mother, I was quickly consumed with fear and despair. I was ready to abandon everything taking just the clothes on our backs. It's so tragic how they take over your safe haven. Seem dramatic? There are thousands that know exactly what I mean! My sister brought home bed bugs from a friends house that we later learned had been infested. We only discovered them by accident, on her mattress while moving it during a move and just threw her entire bed out. We'd had no idea that they had even been in the home and believed that it was just isolated to her and her bed. Problem solved. No! We were naive then, but the damage was already done as they soon flourished in our big new beautiful home. I didn't know a thing about bed bugs back then. Didn't even know they really existed. I do now after enough research to write a 500 page book. So here we are. I'm using many tactics but am happiest with this because it kills quickly and has an indefinite residual when left undisturbed inside the home. And it's one of the only residual killers that kills quickly. It does need to be used with care. I have a toddler and this is toxic. With bed bugs you need many types of treatment working simultaneously. A contact killer( I use bedlam and alcohol), residual killer( DE and this), and growth inhibitor( I use Gentrol IGR with long residual) to stop the second generation of hatching eggs. You need to halt the growth cycle and this is the only true way. Our pest guy ( who was honest and knowledgeable) gave us advice as an alternative to treatment from him-all of the above plus: Isolate your bed. Get it away from the wall. Use climb up protectors. I threw out my headboard. Treat your bed frame well. Get covers for you mattress AND box springs and all pillows. Heat treat unwashables by leaving them in the sun in black garbage bags on a hot day for 2 days. He said this is the poor mans heat treatment and is just as effective. He doesn't even recommend whole house heat treatments as they fail so often as it's sometimes impossible to heat EVERYTHING to 125 degrees. Treat the inside ( behind the plates) of light and electric sockets with a DRY treatment such as this or DE ( diatomaceous earth). Treat ALL baseboards( the space in between the carpet and wall), AND DECLUTTER. Bed bugs hide in clutter, especially things they can reach from the floor. They can live in just about anything- even books, papers, computers and electronics, love curtains ( found one hiding in my blinds) and pretty much anything else- places where lots of traditional treatments( like those useless foggers or contact sprays) won't even reach them. BUT they have to come out to feed and when they do, if you treated areas that they must cross they will indeed die. The majority of bedbugs will prefer a 5 foot radius of your resting areas( couches and chairs too). Just don't forget to treat unused areas too as the females will travel further away, to secluded areas to lay eggs. Bed bugs do not just live in beds or bed rooms, that for sure. They love the cracks and crevices in furniture. Treat all of the frames and seams of chairs, desks, dressers, drawers, etc. Dust no personal contact areas with this or DE. I sprinkled this UNDER my dresser drawers, under couches, under rugs and outlined my closets. Spraying IGR in these places is good too though IGRs aren't harmful to us through casual contact. My clothes are in large ziplock bags for quick access and others are stored in vacuum bags. Maybe some will suffocate! Wash everything in hot water and dry for extended periods. DO NOT put treated clothes back into the general population to be reinfested. This is a common mistake. Store them in garbage bags sealed with rubber bands if you have to. I found that the best way to use this is by putting some in a bowl and dusting it lightly and carefully with a paint brush. It helps with a light, controlled application and can really get down into the cracks. Blowers puff this into the air and it is MUCH dustier than even straight DE. It's been about 3-4 weeks since we saw a live bed bug or had a bite. The above is working. Just make sure to treat every area and do so over and over until 100% gone. It's a huge commitment, like a true battle! Bed bugs can live without feeding up to 18 months! Miss all but one bug or egg and the reinfestation could start all over again. Be weary when considering them defeated, they can be hard to find even for professionals( our pest guy saw none when I had seen a few). I presented my guy with a dead one in a sandwich bag to which he quickly identified it. As if I didn't know them by now despite our intimate midnight rendezvous! Their survival is based on their amazing ability to hide undetected. Some pros resort to bed bug sniffing dogs because they are so elusive. This is not to discourage you, but to help you to understand the reality of effective treatment. My housemates prefers to stick their heads in the sand. It can be done on your own! Be diligent are famous words. It is an emotional ride and sufferers will understand completely what this means. Ignoring them only makes it worse and you will potentially lose everything you own to them. I didn't want that to happen to us. If you have them, you have to commit to long term treatment. That's fine with me because I refuse to live with these disgusting pests. UPDATE: We have been bug free for almost an entire season! This can work! 6/2017 Update: We have been 100% bed bug free for almost 3 years now! ... show more

  • It kills
I’ve used this stuff on about everything. The main thing is yellow jackets, bald faced hornets and even carpenter bees! I killed out a basketball sized bald face hornets nest with this. This is also the only product I have found to kill carpenter bees. Not even carpenter bee spray fazes them. BEE AWARE(pun intended) this does NOT kill instantly so use caution especially if you are trying to use it on a nest. It’s best to use near nest entrances so they take it into the nest with them. I do this at night when when all have arrived back to the nest and less active. One of the best products out there but again you must use cautiously! ... show more
