  • Can't beat what you get for the price.
This is a great product for the price. These are by no means a commercial grade hoop house but they are also about 1/4 of the price per sq ft compared to the commercial grade ones. Instructions are good and assembly is pretty easy even for one person. I ended up deviating from the instructions and made complete hoops and then connected to the bottom frame and lateral brackets and just kept working my way down. Structurally these have the equivalent of 1" thin wall EMT so there is not a lot of rigidity to them. Not an issue for people in no snow or low snow load areas but in areas where there is heavy snowfall IMO it would be prone to collapse (Even the commercial ones collapse occasionally in my area). I ended up running a header down the length of mine for additional snow load support and to limit shift during the wind. The width allows you to easily install 3-36" rows down the house with adequate room for walking or a wheelbarrow. The cover is of good quality with reinforced webbing and everything is double stitched. I realize at some point it will eventually need to be replaced it is plastic after all but for the most part I am very happy with the canopy. Cover is not so tight as to blow out the zippers and there is enough of a skirt around the base that you can easily pin the perimeter down with landscape fabric pins if one chooses to do so. The roll up doors and side windows offer more than enough ventilation and I have been able to easily adjust the air flow through the hoop house by opening and closing any number of windows to keep it at a humid 90 degrees. Installing/removing the canopy can easily be done with two individuals on a calm day. This will be the first winter for them but I am fairly certain that the greenhouse with my little additional support system will be able to handle it. ... show more

  • Honestly? You can't go wrong for the money.
Aside from a shipping headache that the sender made right promptly, this honestly was a pretty great success, as far as this sort of thing goes. Three total people put it together with only very slight confusion and minimal hand tools in about 3 hours. And we were drinking the whole time. The plastic is the only part i have a hard time giving 5/5 but I'm going to do it anyway. There's a billion windows, all of whom have a pair of adjustable clips to secure the window rolled up. I can pretty easily see some of the stitching on the Velcro around the window coming loose soon, and we've only been using it for a week- but that's just my impression from the plastic itself, it may last thru the season with only minor mishaps. Both ends have a securable door. I actually didn't expect that, so kudos. We live in a very low wind area, but the temps swing up to 40° in a given day, no problem. Basically everybody on here says to not expect the plastic to last longer than one year, but even with that in mind, for the money, this thing is an unbeatable deal. All that said, if you think you're going to be able to fit an 8' wide garden bed the whole way down the middle of this thing and still be able to move around inside there reasonably, you are laughably, 100% dead wrong, just like i am, but with 11 yards of dirt in the box, i pretty much get to go ahead and suck it. Don't be like me, build two boxes or one 6.5' wide in the middle. ... show more

  • Structure is not strong enough for typical winter in NE. Can be reinforced to make it so
The reason for the 2 star rating are: 1) The frame pipe is only 3/4 inch diameter not 1" as claimed by vendor in at least 2 answered question 2) The mounting hardware is made of softer and easily damageable vanadium type steel and no spares are provided to help with the contingency of stripping even one in the process. 3) I highly question the appropriateness of using wing nuts rather than standard ex nuts which can be tightened with a wrench rather than your own fingers first because by using a torque wrench all fasteners can be tightened consistently but more importantly because by the time you're done tightening 64 wing nuts your fingers are pretty tired and scoffed. 4) The anchoring equipment supplied by the vendor is laughably inadequate. Providing none at all would be a better option Overall, the instructions are seriously inadequate unless you have some talents that will help you to figure out how things fit together (perhaps after you do it wrong first). To be fair all parts are properly labelled so that once you get going, putting together the rest of the frame should not require a lot of do overs. I put the frame together all by myself and it took me about 5 hours (that included a trip to the hardware store to procure replacements for 3 bolts that stripped during assembly). For those that live in place with strong wind and where snowfall can occasionally top 2ft like I do (I'm on Long Island), the 3/4" inch frame is clearly inadequate but by reinforcing the long side (33 ft) with and additional beam to support the midway point (highest peak) of the frame ribs and 2 ft deep treated 2X4 cemented anchors at the 4 corners and midway point on each of the long side (total of 6 anchors) I think it can be made to work. ... show more

  • Super easy to set up.
We put this up with a couple friends in a couple hours with little to no issues. This is at least a three person build to make it easier. We were working in 30 degree weather in the rain and sleet in the dark with a single flashlight. Adult drinks were involved and we got it set up in about two and a half hours. We had a storm come through later that night and it didn’t blow away with just the stakes that came with it so we did something right. When we went out the next morning it was already warm with very overcast skies. We are very excited to have a place to grow food year round. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get out of the grocery stores for your veggies and herbs. ... show more
