  • Excellent value for the price
Bought this for holding small work pieces on my drill press. Appears well made and fairly sturdy for the price.

  • Good news. 4" is bigger than I thought.
Bought this for my drill press. It arrived open and looked as if it had been used before. I could not find a stamp or sticker that made me think it was made by Delta, so I sent it back.

  • yet the vice worked better than expected
For $19...wow. It is what it is but I can now drill stainless, mild steel, light cast iron work, and adding wood or plastic faces I can drill more secure, precise holes in woods and plastics. The white box with blue text that contained the vice was labeled "Delta" part no: 20-621, the box appeared to be legit though I didn't do an ink or DNA test. I do own a Delta table saw (TS) and the packaging resembles the saw's packaging. The vice only sports the numeral "4" and does not sport the Delta logo...which is suspect, yet the vice worked better than expected. I'm 6'3, 250lbs and torqued the bolted down vice to the best of my abilities and it tightened a 1.5" x 2.5" steel bar without stripping the lead screw or not performing to my expectations. I cannot complain about the vise at this price, it is solid and is good enough. It works great on my Drill Press, DP table, and holds the parts that I shouldn't hold in my hands under a DP. The vice is decently heavy yet easy to nudge into place if needed. I contemplated a 6 inch vice but for my DP and DP table the 4 inch was a great choice. My only gripes are I am not convinced this is genuine Delta and that there is a bit too much play when winding the jaws but not enough to scrap it. This is a decent $19 DP vice, not a Kurt. ... show more

  • all the parts are well lubricated and move easily. It does exactly what it's supposed to do
What can you say about this that it doesn't say it's self!!! it's made of steel!! LOL it works well, all the parts are well lubricated and move easily. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. For some reason I thought these items were expensive but i guess i'm wrong because this item was reasonably priced. ... show more

  • Color is actually black. What I received. OK with me though.
Seems decent and sturdy. The color was black and it didn't have a number 4 cast into as pictured. Otherwise quite satisfied for a Chinese type vise.

  • Worth more than it costs.
When this arrived I was expecting something lightweight and barely stout enough to hold firmly. What I got was a heavy well built vise that was larger than I expected. The screw is nicely cut and works smoothly. In fact I find myself using it for holding small items more than my bench vise. I think I might buy a couple more since it's so handy. ... show more

  • Very acceptable for the price; Not the precession or grace of a $90 vise!
Based on this low price ($16.99), the vise is very deserving of 3.5 stars. It doesn't do well with round stock of varying sizes, as the sliding side of the clamp will lift up. Also, if you want to drop a piece of angle iron in here and tighten it down in a V angle.... forget it! The clamp will move and slip on you. The machining of the moving parts just was not precise enough, probably off by a few mm. I am using this mounted on an old oak stair tread to perform welding work on. Be very careful to cover the threaded rod, as one tiny splatter of steel will cause you probably with operation. I plan to add a little collar on the turning arm and then welding on a large washer to hold the collar on, followed by an old screw bit. I'll be able to open and close this vise very quickly with my cordless drill just by moving the collar over the pivot point on the threaded rod. I may go ahead and buy another one of these, as they are handy for the price. ... show more

  • Not heavy duty but still better than harbor freight.
Ok product for smaller mill parts.
