Love the unit itself overall but doesn't quite cool the room enough. The description says up to 550 Sq Ft. The space I bought it for is 510 Sq Ft. On a hot day of 85, it struggles to bring the room to 75, which is comfortable for us. However, I wound up putting back in one of the two 10k BTU window units I was trying to replace for when we have company of those who like it cooler. One of the reasons I bought this is for the heat pump option. I have not tried this yet because it's Summer, but will update this review in the winter. PROS: Intuitive controls. Great phone app for controlling from anywhere in your house or the world when connected to wifi. FAST installation. Easy WiFi setup. Connects to Bluetooth, but I have not tried that feature. On wheels. Easily move from room to room or roll into a closet for winter storage. The water drains into a bucket, or wait until the internal storage fills up to drain, but I have not had to empty the bucket or to drain the unit yet after weeks of running. I don't know how it does that. Good value. Very efficient using very little electricity for what it does. CONS: Doesn't quite do a 550 sf room, and our house holds the temp pretty well. A bit noisy for a conversation area. The 510 Sq Ft the unit is cooling is an open floor plan. I moved it from the living-dining-conversation area to the kitchen.     • Keeps Turning on and off

I don't like that it keeps turning on and off, constantly. It was pretty warm this summer and I had it running most days, haven't needed to empty the water yet but even since day one it had the cycling issue. I tried moving it away from the window more and closer, adding a fan, nothing seems to fix it. That said it works well as an air conditioner. I haven't tried it with any of the other settings yet. You need to download an app to use it with your phone and if you buy this I would recommend using the app since the remote isn't great. The remote seems to bug out sometimes and stop working. There is a setting that opens the blade on top, you have to physically move it once it opens to the position you want it in. ... show more

Honestly not that bad just got it today and in 3 hours out apply went from 88 to 71 so it’s working pretty well, 2 small things …1 the window thing is weird you need duck tape to really secure it around your window and 2 the drainage is literally at the bottom bottom so you have to lift your ac unit to be able to drain it out but other than that we really like it much better than jsut a fan ! ... show more

To everyone giving bad reviews complaining about certain things they know nothing about.... 1. Yes it cycles. That's the the way all ac and heaters work. Even your oven, electric stove and microwave cycle. They just don't make it obvious. They keep an average temp at what you set it. 2. The fan is loud even on low. Yes it is. But not that loud. I personally like the white noise. 3. The drain. One again you don't read and don't know. The drain is only for the dehumidifier option. The ac and heater will never fill the drain. If you turn on the dehumidifier it will remove up to 72 pints of water a day which you can choose to manually drain or hook up the included hose and drain it into a bucket or outside. That's all for now and I hope I've taught you something. This thing is great. ... show more

Della 14,000 BTU Cooler/heat pump was easy to unpack and install. Cooling isn't constant perhaps due to the condenser needing to cool down. Also, even though it's easy to attach the hose, it's also easy for the hose to disconnect from the window attachment and the back of the cooler. The hose screws into both spots and there isn't a permanent way to keep the hose attached. If you need to turn the cooler or slightly pull it out, there is a chance the hose will pull out of either or both spots. Just check to make sure you're not blowing hot air into the house. The cooler also runs nosier at times. Sounds like the fan is making contact with something inside the cooler. One additional issue we had in our manufactured home was the location of the plug. We had to try several areas because the circuit breaker kept tripping. Eventually moved the cooler to a kitchen outlet, not quite where we wanted to start the cooling. Still must need to remember to turn off the cooler before we can use the microwave, or the breaker will trip. Ultimately the cooler does work to help control the heat. Works better for a smaller space. ... show more

My upstairs AC went out in the middle of August. It was sooo hot and humid that it was hard to breathe after 5 mins. I always wanted to have a back up, but never pulled the trigger on a portable AC unit. Well, 100 plus high humid house in the hottest month of the year is quite MOTIVATING! I starting researcher different brands and stumbled over this one. I knew that I needed a heavy weight to tackle the space. So I was poised to look for a 10,000 btu or higher....Well, when I found this bad boy at 14,000 btu, WITH a heater pump for the winter, I took the gamble. It took about 4 days to get here. It was EASY to install....I am still trying to figure out ALL the bells and whistles, but I just wanted it to cool and IT DID a FANTASTIC job...The air was ice cold! It runs pretty quiet, it got my bedroom cool from 90 degress to a comfortable 74 degrees in about 1 hour. I LOVE, LOVE ,LOVE this unit and if I save a few pennies am SERIOUSLY considering purchasing a SECOND one! I don't see how people wouldn't give this a 5 star rating...It would have your bed room feeling like a hotel room in NO TIME! I have NOT tried the heat side yet, I plan on using that for my garage gym, which is about 400 square feet (20 x 20 space) but to have a COMBO system THAT is portable is a GOD SEND! Works great but don’t the hoses won’t fit the add on exhaust fittings. So just buy the unit and use what it comes with… also weather stripping from the local store.
