Right in the headline of this product, Dell says, "Designed to Allow You to Move Quickly Through TSA Security checkpoints Without Removing Your Laptop." I'm not sure that I get it. Sure the Dell Premier Briefcase 15 (PE1520C) is a nice looking, well made computer case. There are plenty of pockets and what not to hold a slew of accessories. The case has a carry handle and a detachable shoulder strap--something that I like and appreciate. However, when going through a TSA checkpoint it is still necessary to unzip the bag to allow the agent to see the laptop. And if the TSA agent is inclined to examine it, the laptop still needs to be removed from the case for inspection. So how does this help move someone quickly through TSA security? This is a nice case suitable for any notebook or laptop up to 15." It would even work fine for the larger iPad Pros and Microsoft Surface Pro. Still, as far as I can tell it doesn't do anything different in terms of the TSA from many other computer bags. Or maybe I'm just missing the point.

Dell is well known, internationally recognized brand of computers and accessories. The Dell Premier 15 briefcase is a well designed, well made product. The briefcase measures about 15.4” H X 11.4” W X 5.3” deep. There is a 4” leather strip across the front of the briefcase with the Dell logo embossed on the right-hand corner. This section contains a zippered storage compartment which is 4” deep X 11” wide. The next compartment is full sized and has dual zippers. On the front flap is a zippered mesh pouch that is 4” deep by 11” wide. This allows you to see what is stored in the mesh pocket. On the opposite side of this compartment are two open pouch pockets which are 6” deep X 5” wide. The pocket on the left is a fine mesh and the one on the right is heavier with padding. In between are two pen/pencil slots and two small pockets with Velcro flaps. Next is main compartment with dual zippers. This compartment has two pouch pockets on the rear panel which are 8” deep by 5.5” wide. This compartment is the full length and width of the briefcase and measures about 1.5” across at the bottom. Next is the laptop compartment. It will hold most 15” laptops. This compartment has dual zippers and when the zippers are totally open, the briefcase can be fully opened, allowing for TSA to check the laptop without removing it from the briefcase. The laptop compartment has a Velcro closure and is very well padded. On the opposite side of the case is a large pouch pocket with extra padding. On the rear side is a final zippered compartment. It is closed by a single zipper and is 9” high by 11” wide. This compartment is also well padded. There are two carrying handles with leather padding on the section you would hold on to. There is also a detachable shoulder strap. All the exterior zippers have leather pull tabs for ease of use. On the rear of the briefcase is a open strap which allows you to secure the briefcase over the handle of your luggage. The briefcase has a validation code to allow you to be check that it is an authentic Dell accessory. Very professional look and feel - a high quality briefcase.

I’ve been using this as my primary laptop bag for the past month and it has been a good experience. The bag has been extremely comfortable to use, and ample storage has been able to accommodate my daily needs. I tend to change up devices a lot depending on what I’m doing that day, so far I’ve used a 13” Macbook Pro, Surface Book, Dell Latitude 3480, and a Dell Precision 5530. All these fit just fine, and in the case of the Macbook Pro and Surface Book, I was able to carry them both at the same time comfortably. Construction Overall construction is nice. Each of the zippers has a leather pull riveted on which is a nice touch. The front of the bag has a black leather strip on the bottom third with the dell logo on the right. The bag comes with an adjustable strap that has a black leather-wrapped pad for comfort. The top of the bag has two handles, each wrapped in black leather. Storage The front of the laptop bag has a zipper compartment in the leather strip. This compartment is shallow and contains no additional compartments or dividers. I found this useful for cellphone cords and small charging blocks. The second compartment contains a mesh zipper section for small loose items. Directly across on the opposite side you’ll find an open mesh compartment, two pen slots, two small Velcro pockets, and a slip pocket with a soft fabric lining on one side for a cell phone. The first main compartment is spacious and has two large-sized open slip pockets. These worked well for a mouse and power supply. Alternatively, it can also be used for an additional laptop if needed. The second main compartment, laptop section, has a padded sleeve with a Velcro strap to keep your device secured. There is a single additional open sleeve for a tablet. The final compartment is a single open compartment with no additional dividers. Useful for notepads.
