A handyman just put this bed together for my daughter’s new room and it looks good! I’m including a pic here to show (1) the size of one drawer (in the stock photos, it’s hard to tell if there is one long drawer or two shorter ones) and (2) that a twin mattress can fit underneath for storage if you choose to use the space for that instead of the rolling drawers. The bed took about 5 hours to put together, after organizing/separating all the pieces. If you have Allen key drill bits, that might save some time. We opted not to instill the drawers due to lack of space in the room, but it allows for extra storage under the bed. We opted for the 6” mattress as recommended, but an 8” would have been fine- it would have come up to the shelves around the bed, rather than just under the shelving. My son loves his new bed but the assembly was a pain ! It took a while to put it together because the instructions is a bit confusing at parts . Overall it’s a good buy but clear your schedule for assembly.

The media could not be loaded. I looked everywhere for something like this and others seemed harder to convert into a king or use their own thin mattress or are real day beds (as opposed to this that is a kid twin bed). This can be used as a twin bed, a trundle (for sleepovers eventually) and as a king (in case we have families staying over). So far, so good. Received it yesterday, and it took me 2 hours to build by myself last night. Would have been faster if the parts were labeled! So minus .5 on that LOL. See video and photos with 6-inch mattress and how easy it is to pull out and back (excuse the mess as I will be redoing this whole room). I would say that 6 inch is the max you could use for the (bottom and top if you plan to use as a king). ... show more

The bed came as shown. It wasn't difficult to put it together. Everything came with it with no missing items. It came in two boxes which made it easier to transport. There is a lot of screwing and while the instructions say to stick with a screwdriver, you may want to use a power drill at low speed. The wheels don't roll well on thicker carpets, but we placed a mat down and it helped. Overall, I'm satisfied and so is my son who will be sleeping in it. ... show more
