I admit, I was hoping for an actual blanket when getting this. It's not, it's a glorified tarp, but of the very handy and useful variety. This does indeed repel sand as you would like, and the various size options make this great for purchasing for whatever your needs may be. I love how tightly this wads up for storage. I love that this tarp comes in a bag which keeps the ground stakes and everything organized all in one place. Since it is so compact and lightweight this ground covering can go with you anywhere and be used for picnics beach outings camping etc. It is easy to shake the sand off of it and also wipe down with a wet cloth in case it gets dirty. I also found that when we tried to camp with it it prevented most of the moisture from getting through to the tent. I would not say this ground covering is completely water proof but may be water resistant. There’s a great design with the loops at the corners for the ground stakes to hold it in place. There was not a lot of wind during the times that I have used it so I don’t know how high-quality the material or sewing is since it hasn’t been truly tested. I also enjoyed the little toggle switch that keeps the bag closed and all the contents from dumping out. For the price that I paid I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family. ... show more
