  • Excellent Beginner Chopper with Terrific Staying Power!
As an avid remote control enthusiast, I am highly impressed by this DEERC military-inspired helicopter. It is a fantastic entry point into the hobby, striking the perfect balance between ease of use and durable performance. Out of the box, the authentic military detailing looks sharp, and the build quality feels robust enough to handle the inevitable bumps and bruises that come with learning to fly. Getting this chopper airborne is an absolute breeze thanks to the built-in gyro stabilization, altitude hold, and one-key takeoff and landing features. The controls are remarkably intuitive and easy to learn. Once it is up in the air, it becomes a genuine joy to pilot. It hovers steadily and responds beautifully to commands, making it a wonderful confidence-builder for younger children or anyone just starting out. The dual speed modes are another excellent addition, allowing beginners to get their bearings at a comfortable pace before ramping up to a faster, more responsive flying experience. One major highlight is the battery setup. DEERC includes two USB-C rechargeable batteries, which give you significantly longer flight sessions and way less downtime. Swapping them out is seamless, and the USB-C connection makes recharging fast and convenient. They also generously included several spare parts in the box, which provides great peace of mind in case of a rough landing. The only important factor to keep in mind is the aircraft's weight. This helicopter is very lightweight, meaning that if there is even a slight breeze outside, it becomes quite difficult to control against the elements. If the wind picks up at all, you will definitely want to bring the action indoors. Fortunately, it flies just as well inside your living room as it does outdoors in dead-calm conditions—in fact, it is a little easier to control inside where the air is perfectly still. Ultimately, DEERC has a real winner on their hands with this model. It is tough, user-friendly, and offers plenty of flight time, making it an incredible birthday or holiday gift for aspiring pilots. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to dip their toes into the RC flying hobby, and it easily earns a full five stars. ... show more

  • Fun little RC Helicopter.
This is a review for the DEERC RC Helicopter for Kids & Adults, 2.4GHz Remote Control Helicopter This RC helicopter is well thought out, from the 3 channel control, to the way the battery attaches to the unit itself. The controller feels a bit cheap for the premium price, but the helicopter itself looks very good. It's easy to fly and assemble, and the ability for the batteries to be charged with any USB C cable is a huge plus, something I'd like to see on more RC vehicles. Flight time is as promised, about 12 minutes per battery, and the flight is pretty stable for a less expensive RC helicopter. The only downside is the lack of trim controls for forward and backwards flight, as my unit has a tendency to drift backwards slightly, enough to make flying indoors slightly untenable. Overall, this helo looks great, controls well, is remarkably sturdy (Survived a flying cat attack), and includes a few spare parts. I wish it had some forward and back trim controls, and the normal price is just a touch more than I'd like to see for a 3 Channel vehicle of this caliber. Perfect thing to grab on sale. ... show more

  • Fun as long as the air is still
The DEERC RC helicopter is easy to fly and makes a fantastic choice for kids who are just getting into RC aircraft. The built in gyro stabilization, altitude hold, and one key takeoff and landing remove much of the frustration that often comes with learning to fly, making it possible to get airborne within minutes. Even younger beginners should have little trouble getting comfortable with the controls after a few practice flights. My four year old grandson got the hang of flying it within a few minutes. I like that it comes with two rechargeable batteries. Being able to swap in a fresh battery instead of waiting for a recharge makes the fun last. The USB-C charging is quick and convenient. The batteries lasted about twelve minutes each while flying indoors in the living room and bedrooms. The safety features are well thought out. The low battery warning helps prevent unexpected crashes, while the emergency stop provides extra peace of mind if things get out of control. The two speed settings are another nice touch, allowing beginners to start slow before moving up to a faster, more responsive flight mode as their skills improve. The military inspired design looks fantastic. I also like that the 2.4GHz radio system allows multiple helicopters to fly together without interfering with each other. The helicopter is durable as it was crashed dozens of times without breaking during the learning to fly indoors sessions. My only complaint is that it will not fly reliably indoors while a ceiling fan is running or if any air is moving; it has to be perfectly still. The helicopter struggles to move in any direction with any wind whatsoever with even the central air conditioning causing control issues. Overall, it is a fair value and fun for the intended age range. ... show more

  • Not much forward/backward control
I'm an experienced RC aircraft pilot and I'm familiar with the DEERC brand. Other products from them I have are fantastic. Unfortunately, to explain this one as anything but a disappointment would be a lie. The helicopter looks really awesome, and you have 3 degrees of freedom (forward/backward, up/down, and rotation) - but the forward/backward control is lacking significantly. The helicopter is incapable of moving into even the gentlest breeze imaginable - it even had trouble holding on in breezes that were so gentle that I couldn't feel them. I attempted indoor flight, and you really don't have enough control to avoid obstacles due to the lack of forward/backward speed (max speed is basically hardly above 0). Charging the helicopter is easy, with each battery having a USB-C port. The helicopter also comes with replacement blades - but surprisingly the original ones have held out after some pretty hard crashes (due to the inability to fly in a gentle breeze). The controller requires 3 AAA batteries, not included. The controller has the 2 speed modes common on most toy RC aircraft - but even on the highest speed setting, there isn't much speed to forward/backward movement, which makes the amount of control you have in flight extremely limited, even in indoor flight (my air conditioner was too much for it to fly past and a ceiling fan can basically toss it). Rotation and vertical axis movement has great control, though. DEERC makes some really cool products, but I can't recommend this one to anyone - if I had purchased this I would have been disappointed enough to return it. The lack of enough forward/backward speed makes it mostly uncontrollable and somewhat dangerous for indoor flight if you value your TV or anything else that might be damaged by quickly spinning props. I've provided a video to show the helicopter in flight - it looks really cool, but don't be fooled into thinking it's flying the way I want it to. Its flight in my video is overwhelmingly decided by the movement of the breeze - mostly I have control over the altitude and the direction the helicopter is facing. Bummer. ... show more

  • Fun with limits—better for calm outdoor days than indoors
This helicopter is okay, but it doesn't work quite like it's described. While it's a decent toy for the price, you should expect a bit of a learning curve and a few limitations. Battery & Setup: The battery life isn't as long as advertised, so don't expect the full duration listed in the description. Also, the controller takes 3 AAA batteries that are not included, which was disappointing right out of the box. Flight Control: It can be hard to steer forward and backward, making precise navigation a challenge. Ironically, it's harder to control indoors, so outdoor use is recommended—but you have to time it right because this doesn't fly well in light wind or breezes at all. Overall, you can get some play time with it and have some fun. It just has limits with how it can be used, so it's best for open spaces on completely still days. ... show more

  • Easy to control, Good size, Durable
My dog LOVES flying *anything* - well, except birds which she thinks are her friends. Most RC Helicopters are too small for me to operate well. It's not her, it's me for sure. When I saw this it was bigger than the ones I failed at controlling and ordered it. It's a good size, larger than the ones I had before. The operation is easy - you turn it on, turn on the remote and they'll flash when they've synched, just a few seconds. Then you shift down and up to get the helicopter off the ground. And your flying! You can move back and forth pretty easily and up and down. I still over-react when it gets close to something. So I've run into a chandelier, a wall, and the stairs. I guarantee you it was all me. Lol. I'm getting better at it though. The point here is the helicopter has made it through these disasters with no loss of life and in good shape. It comes with two batteries that are easy to switch out. Our previous models made us unscrew the battery compartment which was a chore. This is a quick snap out and snap in - doesn't even really register. It uses standard USB-C to charge the batteries, so I already have chargers all over for it. My dog adores this and her snout has hit the blades a couple of times as she's barking at it. She has learned not to put her snout there and has suffered zero injury, which is also nice for me. The blades just stop when they hit something which makes me feel secure letting her have fun with it. This is a great toy and we have enjoyed it moments after we unboxed. It's great for kids, adults, and their pups. We're a fan. ... show more

  • ⭐ Easy to Fly and Lots of Fun
This RC helicopter was a big hit! It was easy to get up and flying, even for someone with little experience. The altitude hold feature makes it much easier to control, and the two speed settings are great for beginners and more confident flyers. The two rechargeable batteries are a huge plus because they give you plenty of flight time without having to stop after just a few minutes. The LED lights are a nice touch and make it fun to fly indoors, especially in the evening. The helicopter feels well made, the remote responds quickly, and everything worked right out of the box. Whether you’re buying it for a child or an adult who enjoys RC toys, this is a fun, entertaining gift that provides plenty of enjoyment. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Smooth flying coaxial helicopter that works great indoors
I have flown quite a few coaxial helicopters, and this DEERC model has the features that make these helicopters easy to enjoy. It has one-button takeoff and landing, altitude hold, two speed settings, and comes with two batteries. The flight time is about what I would expect from a helicopter of this size, and having a second battery is convenient because it allows for longer flying sessions. The biggest limitation I noticed is that it does not have enough forward momentum to handle much wind outdoors. That being said, the slower and more predictable flight characteristics are also what make it easier for beginners to learn the controls. This is one of the reasons coaxial helicopters like this work well indoors because they are easier to manage in smaller spaces. I was able to fly it outdoors on a screened-in back porch because the screen blocked enough wind for it to fly comfortably. I also tested it outside in the open air, but it was pushed around by the wind. The 2.4GHz radio system works well outdoors and avoids the daylight interference issues common with older infrared-controlled helicopters. The controls feel smooth, and it is a lot of fun to fly. It has enough upward lift to make takeoffs smooth and gives it good power when climbing. The battery installation is a little different than expected because the batteries slide forward into place rather than using a traditional tray. Once I understood how they fit, changing batteries was quick and easy. I had a lot of fun flying this helicopter. It is easy to control, does not require much space, and is a good option for beginners or anyone who wants a simple indoor RC helicopter. ... show more
