The car is fun, and it goes quite fast compared to what I am used to, but you can limit that on the control itself. You can also adjust the steering trim as needed directly on the remote as well, which is a nice feature. What you cannot do is turn off any of the lights, which is sad because I'd like more power for driving. That aside, the shell comes off very easily with 4 cotter pins holding it on, and the battery is pretty easy to install and swap out. Still, it is a fun toy, and it really motates down the road if you set it to max speed and open it up. Plus, the car has pretty good throttle control, allowing you to easily navigate even a small indoor room with relative ease. Overall, I'd be happy to recommend this to any RC enthusiast. Just be sure that the battery terminal has its contacts sprung out far enough to make good contact Edit: The issue with the car shutting off unexpectedly was due to a loose connection in the battery plug of the car. Prying these contacts out a bit solved the issue.

DEERC has become a household name in the RC business with their wide variety of hobby grade to professional RC Cars. The 9003E is the perfect setup for people looking to get into RC Cars. With a brushed motor, real steering servo, and upgradable parts, this car is ready to run out of the box. With the included (2 total batteries) lithium ion batteries, this thing gets up to speed quickly. The wide body and axles give it a lot of stability while turning and makes it easy to control. If it’s too fast don’t worry, you can adjust the speed from the controller along with alignment. The batteries also use a hobby grade T Connector which makes it easy to upgrade the batteries to 2S Lipo and get a little more run time and top speed out of the motor. My favorite part is that you can find parts for this truck if you know what you’re looking for but it isn’t necessary. One drawback is the battery run time is only about 10-15 minutes per battery so realistically with both batteries you can get about 30 minutes depending on what speed you’re operating on. For someone looking for a fun RTR RC car at an affordable price the 9003E is a solid choice. It’s easy to use, comes with spare parts, tools, and an extra battery. One added touch is the lock pin tie downs. The tie down clips are what lock the top body onto the car and they used a rubber strap mounted to the body of the car from keeping you from losing them, I wish more cars came with this feature. I’m super happy with this RC Car because it’s straight to the point, it’s durable, it has easy to use functionality, and the most important part it’s fast!

The media could not be loaded. The 9003E R/C Car is a tough, fun little car that claims a 40 KPH speed and boasts 40 minutes of drive time on two of the included Lithium-Ion batteries. It's a lot of fun to drive and easy to adjust to. I love that this car has separate oil-filled shocks on all four corners, and they all operate independently, giving you a smoother ride. The undercarriage is durable and constructed to protect the drive chain and electronic components and supports the car beautifully. At 2.4 lbs. it's a little heavier than my first R/C car in this class, and also a good two inches longer coming in at 12" in length. About the 40 KPH speed, it feels a little bit under that. While the car is undeniably peppy and fun to drive (see the video for results of the very first drive experience) I don't know that I believe that number. It just didn't "feel" that fast. Although that might be a scale-difference between this car and my first one. It's a minor quibble, as you can see the car loves to engage in drifting and throws dirt with the best of 'em. (I added this after I wrote the main review but before it was published: Testing the 9003E indoors in a large, carpeted area the car performs amazing. Just make sure there's nothing easily knock-overable around as the car is quick. I was getting it to do wheelies and so forth and it comes across much more aggressive. On large smooth concrete surfaces, she's nearly uncontrollable but then that's the case with nearly every R/C vehicle I have, so no harm, no foul there.) Punchy, rugged, cool looking. This would make a great Birthday, Christmas or other holiday gift.

I'm a bit of an RC snob due to being heavily invested in the hobby and this little truck still surprised me. The wheelie bar seemed laughable, but nope, it definitely needs it! If you rock the truck it will do a backflip without trying. It's not super fast, but compared to most RC toys it definitely moves, but not so much so that it will break from hitting things. The plastic bumpers and big, soft wheels will help keep suspension and body safe from bumps and flips. This would be great for children 5+ without any issues. It's a lot of fun and the batteries last quite a long time. Having two makes it easier to manage, charge one and run the other. Replacement batteries and better chargers are readily available. Just make sure you get one of similar size with a Deans connector and you're good to go.
