This amphibious RC plane by DEERC is amazing and a lot of fun to fly. On land, water, and in the air, it is truly beginner friendly and super easy to operate. It measures a full foot in length with a wingspan of just over 10 inches. The aircraft comes with two batteries. Each takes about an hour to charge but the operational time is close to 15 minutes each so you'll have plenty of fun time. The plane operates using two props for directional control. It has a single servo that controls a real elevator and truthfully, that's all you need for a good time. The craft cruises through the water with ease. Get it going fast enough and it leaps into the air and your off on a nice flight. This thing practically floats through the air. The controls are very responsive. It's slow and gentle, making it perfect for a beginner. You can actually make it hover like a helicopter if you position it just right. Landing is as simple as taking off. You also have the option for a hand launch or ground runway take off, although that's a little rougher as it doesn't have wheels. The aircraft has a low battery warning beep which is very helpful so you don't end up stranded. One thing to note is you must be careful not to flip it over while landing in the water. It can return in this position, but you should know that the movement for this is EXTREMELY slow.. If you don't have enough batter power, you may need to go swimming to get it. Overall, this is an outstanding beginner plane. My son was able to fly it with no prior experience. If you're looking for an affordable first time RC aircraft that doubles as a boat, then this one's for you. It's definitely kid friendly and it carries the trusted DEERC name brand.

We took this out to our local duck pond last night and honestly had a blast with it for about 10 minutes before it got stuck in the fountain. That was completely operator error and not the fault of the plane itself. One thing that surprised me was how durable the foam body actually is. When we were first learning to control it, we bumped into a few walls around the pond and clipped the fountain a couple of times, and it handled it much better than I expected. It still floated fine afterward, although we did end up replacing the propellers fairly quickly. The controls are pretty easy to learn, but this thing moves faster than you might expect, especially on water. I’d definitely recommend using it in a more enclosed area if possible, because retrieving it in a large open pond could become a challenge fast. Overall, it’s a fun RC plane/boat and we genuinely enjoyed using it. My only hesitation is the price. At around $70, I personally expected a little more in terms of overall quality and materials. Still, it’s entertaining and does exactly what it says it will do.

This is the coolest boat you can get for under a Benjamin. Not only is a rudderless airboat, but it has an onboard gyro and an elevator for flight! It'll run on just about any surface, especially when wet. Although it doesn't like grass if it's tall enough to hit the propellers. It has two 800mah batteries that last over 15 min a piece. The best part is the gyro-controlled flight. You need no experience at all to fly and perform stunts right out of the box. After 1 battery you can fool all of your friends into thinking you're a pilot! It's easy to charge, and easy to setup. Uses coreless motors and a real 4g servo. It's lightweight and should only be piloted on calm days. Highly Recommended!

This RC plane seemed neat in theory, but isn't quite as fun in a pool once you have it go around a couple times. Three AAA batteries are needed for the remote controller (these batteries not included), and two rechargeable lithium batteries for the plane itself. It was a little hard to maneuver at first but once we got the hang of it, everyone lost interest. It is pretty neat that it goes fast, but because it is really only for water, the runway is limited. The plane is made of styrofoam, so I'm not really sure what parts warrants the current price point of $69.99. There's not much durability with styrofoam, so to me, it is not a good value for the cost.

This has been a really fun beginner RC plane, especially for casual flying around parks or calm lakes. The stabilization system makes a huge difference if you’re newer to RC aircraft. The biggest positive is how forgiving it is: • Easy launches • Stable flight • Recovers well from small mistakes • Water capability adds a lot of fun The dual batteries are appreciated because one battery disappears quickly once you start having fun. I also liked that it can handle rougher landings better than expected. The foam construction flexes a bit instead of instantly cracking. Things to know: • Wind affects it pretty easily because it’s lightweight • Best in calm conditions • Turning response is gentle rather than aggressive • Water takeoffs work best on smoother water The amphibious aspect is more than a gimmick — being able to run it from water, grass, or pavement keeps it interesting and makes setup easier almost anywhere.

My grandson brought over this DEERC flying contraption, and we took it right down to the edge of the pond. It is the strangest thing I ever did see because it takes off right from the water like a mallard, flies up over the pine trees, and then lands right back down in the grass. Back in my day, airplanes stayed in the sky and boats stayed in the creek, but this little thing just does whatever it wants. It has some kind of built-in gyro stabilizer gizmo that keeps it from nose-diving into the mud, which is a blessing because my hands aren't as steady as they used to be. The remote control has a nice grip to it and handles real easy, so even an old timer like me can keep it airborne for a few minutes without causing a disaster. The only trouble is the battery doesn't last very long at all—just when I start having a grand old time, the propeller quits and we have to go back inside to plug it into the wall. I also keep forgetting where we put the extra little plastic props that came in the box, but that might just be my mind playing tricks on me again. It is a wonderful little toy for sitting by the water on a warm afternoon, even if I can't always remember the name of it when we pack it up.

I picked this up because an RC plane that can handle land, water, and air is a lot more interesting than a basic glider. The 3 channel control is beginner friendly, and the 6 axis gyro helps keep it manageable. It is still an RC aircraft, so calm weather makes a big difference. The water takeoff and landing feature is fun if you have a safe pond or pool area with enough space. It is light, so wind will push it around. I like it for kids and adults learning to fly without jumping straight into a hobby grade plane. The ready to fly setup makes it easier to get started. For beginner outdoor fun, it is a neat little aircraft.

my grandkids love this plane so much. i just ordered 2 more for the other grandkids. they have flown it into the house, into the cedar hedge and every other structure in our yard and its still going strong! batteries have pretty good life fully charged, probably 30 minutes or so. and it comes with two. all said, well worth the price. my g-kids are 3, 7 & 9. they all have a blast with this plane.
