Arbor Tie is a woven polypropylene material designed for staking and guying trees that is safe, soft, easy to use and less expensive than traditional tree ties. Specifically designed to replace traditional methods such as wire and hose. Arbor Tie also eliminates the need to flag or cover guywires, and our proven Arbor Knot expands as the tree grows in caliper, preventing girdling. Green Arbor Tie has 900 lbs. break strength that stands up to fierce winds while providing enough sway to help the tree develop trunk strength. During a bad wind storm, our Carolina Cypress trees were terribly bent over and leaning. We had not staked them as they were a few years old and thought they were beyond that, as the roots were dug in. We have about 16 trees and didn't want to spend a fortune buying individual straps with grommets. This roll of guying material was just as we expected. Did not disappoint. Great value for this amount of quality material. I also loved the video showing how to do the knots. Thanks!

I use Arbortie a lot and when I got the latest 250ft roll I thought I had gotten a fake version because it looks slightly different and doesn't have the "deeproot.com arbortie" printing on the webbing that it used to have. I contacted deeproot.com and they responded "Thank you for reaching out. The ArborTie design was recently updated, and the product no longer has branding on the webbing itself. The sticker indicating the product number is correct." The sticker reference is for the UPC code on the roll. The webbing feels as strong as it did previously so I hope it will perform the same, which has been fabulous. I use it to tie young trees to stakes and for anything where I need to tie a tree to something solid. It doesn't stretch over time and it doesn't disintegrate from UV as far as I can tell (a couple of years in intense california sun).

Original review: This product may indeed be good. I am hoping that it is... however, when I ordered, what I received matched the picture (100' roll - which I had not noticed before) rather than the described 250'. That explains why the actual item (250') roll found elsewhere on Amazon is quite a bit more in cost ($38). This item should probably be described as being 100', not 250'! Updated: Amazon updated their product description and got me sorted out. I really like this product so far. It's very easy to use and is superior to using string/rope with tubing, etc. I like that its easy to see and matched with the arbor tie steel stakes was cheaper than some poorer quality wood/string staking kits available at my local lowes. To save on material, I'd recommend using a bowline knot to tie this to the tree. This leaves space and also allows for one long strand. If I could make one improvement/suggestion... It would be awesome to have something like this with integrated deer repellent (scent) if even possible. That would kill two birds with one stone!

I've used DeepRoot Arbortie strapping for many years in my business and have been very impressed with it. I was running low on the product and ordered from Amazon (not another vendor, selling the product through Amazon). I don't believe what I got was authentic Arbortie strapping. For one thing, the material doesn't bear the normal printed "Deeproot(R) Arbortie(R)....phone number" imprint. It came on a plastic spool, not the normal cardboard spool. And, the strapping feels a little different and is a sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly different color of green. The feel and color differences are subtle enough that I questioned whether I was right about this. Small details....do they matter? It'd been over a year since I last bought strapping so, I thought maybe they've just made some inconsequential changes. We went ahead and used it as we always do. Well, after a few weeks, we revisited trees we'd used it on and IT STRETCHED!! Not much, but enough to defeat the entire purpose of stabilizing the tree against the wind. As long as I've been using Arbortie strapping, this has never happened, which is why I've always used the real thing. Of course, this stretching took a few weeks to develop and now my window is closed for returning the product. I believe Amazon is selling a counterfeit product in this case. Not amused.

This stuff works great. Very strong and easy to work with. I used this product to stabilize an Apple tree in my back yard after the wind blew it off vertical by 45 degrees and was straightened with a come a long, sheep herder jack, 3/4" manila rope, and a 20' tow strap. Once back to vertical I replace the foregoing tools and material with this guying material. I had a lot of pressure on but 2 months later its working great and my tree is vertical. This stuff could also be used as a miniature tow strap when several pieces are used together. It has lots of additional uses.

Sometimes ordering an unnecessary item can be worthwhile. I had ordered the Tree Staking Kit for a new tree: "KIT" was the clue (everything I needed was included). I overlooking that fact and ordered the Staking and Guying material; however, as it turned out it has many uses. I've made loops for handles on a tarp I use to rake up leaves; it would work as tie-downs for hauling; will be available when the time comes to reuse the stakes in my staking kit and I have no doubt will come in handy for numerous other projects. It's light, strong, and the color blends in with the environment. Yes, I know I could have returned it but am so glad I didn't.
