    • Great beginner sonar.
This sonar is great for any water that is still or very mild movement. I use it for saltwater fishing and it has proven useful for reading the ocean floor. I have noticed that it sometimes doesn't connect to the app. I don't know if this is the device or the apps fault. Note: you must turn your mobile data off to have this work properly. The setup is quick and easy Follow every step exactly as the instructions say and there are no issues I had excellent results on the first try for an hour with the “deeper start” then the device stopped working and would not connect to wifi The comprehensive troubleshooting guide helped me find the issue quickly ( which turned out to be a phone setting ) Give the unit time to connect . It can be a little slow. The graphics are excellent, the schools of salmon were located quickly However, remember that even when you find them they may not be on the bite!😆 ... show more

    • DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
It’s like Sex Panther cologne from the movie Anchor Man, “60% of the time it works every time” but even less reliable. Connectivity is spotty (at best) even with both the Sonar unit and Phone fully charged. If by some miracle or sheer dumb luck you are able to get a connection, the App displays nothing; no depth reading, no contour, no fish, just a blank screen, you may as well be looking at a Sonar Scan of an empty Parking Lot. So you’re basically paying $100+ for nothing more than a Bobber (or a paper weight). The only reason why I gave this 1 Star is because 0 Stars is not an option. Do not waste your money on this piece of junk, you'd be better off throwing the $100 into the water. PS. And the Customer "Support" is even worse. They claim that minor scratches (that are not even as deep as the Serial Number etched into the unit) are indications of "lots of physical impacts against hard objects", so they are using that as an excuse to absolve themselves from any responsibility for the product. ... show more

Bought as a Christmas present for my son. He uses it to fish off the piers in Southern California. Was a bit worried about how well it would work for ocean fishing like he does, but so far it is working well for him. He likes getting to see what is going on with the fish and he says it has helped him catch more. Seems more designed for lake fishing, be he is finding it effective for ocean shore and pier fishing also. ... show more

    • Great With Issues - But Resolved

Update: 3/4/2021 Finally Deeper support cleared out my issue! I am a happy camper! New one works perfectly and connects! __________________________________ Update: 2/23/2021 Received new one. Same issue as before. The unit does not display Deeper START in the Wifi network like the first one I purchased that stopped working after a week. Tried on two different phones, laptops and tablets. What does appear is ESP_2B6442 which is the device but support clarified that is wrong. Nonetheless I tried to connect to that and it immediately fails. So a 3rd unit now does this. Contacting support again and they are sending another one. Wifi+ is off, there is no VPN and the phone has been restarted to eliminate any issues. Device placed on charge or in water and away from other Wifi devices and no effect. Unit is flashing that's it's broadcasting, app has all permissions also but that does not matter when the correct Wifi name can not be connected to. Unit is fully charged, Mobile/Cellular data is off, WiFi assist is off, Smart network management does not exist, Portable WiFi hotspot is off. That covers anything and still does not work properly. I have spent days to make it work and 3 in a row are doing this. I sent them back and waiting for support to diagnose what is going on, Deeper application has permission to use "Mobile/Cellular" and "Location". To check this, go to your "Phone settings" -> "Application settings" and find "Fishdeeper". __________________________________ Update: 2/19/2021 After speaking with Deeper support they determined a second unit is faulty? They are sending another replacement. I asked they test it before sending it out and they stated they will. Customer service is great but having the company in Lithuania and having to wait to get a replacement from there puts a damper on my fishing schedule and usage of the Deeper. Will update once received. __________________________________ Update: 2/14/2021 New unit received and same issue. Deeper does not appear on list of Wifi devices to connect to. Does not appear on my Huawei Mate 10 nor my LG K10 nor my new Asus Zenbook nor on my Samsung Galaxy tablet nor on my Dell PC Wifi network. It appears to be a bad batch/series? I have emailed support again to see what they will do again. Initially the first unit I had would display Deeper in the Wifi list to connect to. Then it never appeared again and now only displays ESP_280119 which I know is the unit due to the serial number but you can never connect to it. It just fails when you try. This is what both units are doing now. I have emailed their support for an answer but I mentioned that it appears they have a bad batch of these and are not being certified tested leaving the factory. __________________________________ Update: 2/13/2021 4 stars now. After contacting support, they determined my unit was faulty. They are sending a new replacement at no charge via UPS. Will see how the replacement is received and how it works. __________________________________ Update: 2/8/2021 Changed from 1 to 2 star for now. After contacting Deeper support they (quickly, one day turn time) determined that the unit is to exchanged. Now that is what I call excellent service! I will update again once this issue is resolved and the replacement is received and how it works and what occurred with Deeper support. __________________________________ Initial review: 2/4/2021 Purchased a week ago. Only used it once and it worked perfectly. One week later it does not work anymore. Does not show in Wi-Fi anymore to connect to. Contacted support.     • Holy cow it works
I fish a river that flows through a decent sized town. Tons of little holes I can get into. This product made mapping my spots a breeze. Works great from a kayak. Even better for salmon season when checking depth before wadding to the next spot. 10/10 would recommend this for anyone. Can't beat the price for what it does. ... show more
