The main reason for choosing this equipment was to add some entertainment to the pool, especially during family gatherings or when friends come over. Besides swimming, it offers more interactive activities. In actual use, it has indeed become one of the most popular pieces of equipment by the pool. This poolside basketball hoop perfectly bridges the gap between it being too hot to go outside and still wanting to play basketball. My kids have absolutely no excuse to stay inside now, and I even made them handle the assembly themselves. We had to redo the construction based on the product pictures alone because they managed to lose the instruction manual after starting, right before we went on a family trip and the wind blew the unanchored pieces away. Thankfully, we fixed the structural setup and everything is securely put together and proper now. They have been in the pool for the entire day, which is fantastic because it keeps them active instead of just playing video games and being lazy. The best part about this setup is that it is absolutely not a junk toy floating basket. The fillable base keeps it completely stable on the deck, allowing the kids to shoot and maneuver around like they are playing real basketball, just inside the water. Nevertheless, this is not a quick “throw-it-together-and-play” setup. Assembly is far more involved than expected, and careful alignment and tightening of the components is extremely important for long-term stability and safe use. 🙋♀️What is this? This is a large poolside basketball system that combines an adjustable-height hoop with a massive 10x8 ft rebound/backstop net designed to keep missed shots from flying across the yard or back into the pool. The setup includes the basketball hoop, telescoping support system, weighted fillable base, oversized backstop net, stabilizing supports, basketball, and air pump. The hoop height adjusts between approximately 3 and 4 feet for different ages and skill levels, while the rust-resistant metal components and UV-protected materials are designed specifically for long-term outdoor poolside use. The large rebound net is honestly one of the smartest features because it keeps gameplay moving without constantly interrupting the fun to retrieve the ball. This hoop was ordered for my wife’s sister’s pool since her sons will be staying there for several months, and it immediately became something everyone was excited about. I grew up playing pool basketball myself, so this felt like a fun low-impact way to stay active while spending time with family. The package arrived in excellent condition, but once we opened everything up it became clear this was a much larger and more assembly-intensive system than anticipated. My advice is to lay out every part beforehand, read the instructions completely before tightening anything permanently, and assemble the unit slowly on a flat surface whenever possible. The backstop net should be attached evenly corner-by-corner to maintain proper tension, and all support points should be double-checked before gameplay. Once assembled, it is also wise to periodically inspect bolts and support sections since some components may loosen slightly over time with repeated use and movement. Once assembled correctly, however, the system becomes extremely enjoyable. I got this DEBERG pool basketball hoop thinking it would provide some casual entertainment during the summer. That plan lasted about fifteen minutes.
