    • Works really great, but a "pain" to install on a Chevy Venture.
There is absolutely nothing negative about the alternator. It works as it should and deserves 5 stars!!! However, installing it into a Chevy Venture is a pain, and this is really the Ventures fault or the engineers who designed it. You will have to remove the front engine mounting brackets and tilt the engine forward. You will also need to undo the Windshield wiper gearbox and motor to flip it out of the way. Even with all of that, it was a Chinese puzzle to get the old alternator out and the new one in. BTW, if you go through all of that, do what I did and replace the rear spark plugs while you are at it. With the engine tilted forward and the alternator removed you have now easy access to the spark plugs in the back. Especially the middle one would be impossible to replace otherwise. Just my gripe about Chevy Venture repair accessibility, NOT a reflection on the replacement part, which is GREAT! ... show more

The price was excellent and the alternator works well in my '03 Montana. The shipping was quick and free. If it does stop working I will update the review and the rating. The install in the Montana was difficult, but I knew that in advance and youtube was a big help. I probably saved more than $500 by purchasing and installing myself. I have had a good experience with another DB Electrical alternator on another vehicle I own. Edit: about 1 year and 12k miles in, it still works well. Alternator didn't make it 6 months. Quit working before Thanksgiving. Not happy with product quality. Did not last 6 months. Wouldn't be so bad but the labor to R&R was expensive. Had to change, thank you GM for a poor design. Ordered replacement through Rock Auto. Hoping for much better quality product. Rock Auto product worked perfect. Another cost to change out bad alternator. Another $100.00 out of pocket. ... show more
