2006 mini cooper s and it worked fine. that was the 2nd. alternator that I ordered for this car the 1st didn't give me the option about mini cooper s. witch makes the difference. but it was on ebay.

Replacing the alternator in a Mini is not a job for the faint of heart. The real mini Alternator was eight times the cost of this one so I tackled it. iTunes to the rescue!

Item was not the alternator that i need to no fault of their own. 2009 MINI coopers were manufactured with two different alternators in which the plugs are different. One is a single and the other is a three prong plug. My only suggestion would be that they specify which MINI this would fit as the 2009 R56 that I owned ONLY uses a Valeo alternator.     • Company does not honor their warranty
Long story short, buy a different brand from a company that will stand behind their products. I bought this alternator, and it states it has a 1-year warranty. After 2 months, mine died. I logged in and the Amazon warranty support link takes you to the manufacturer's website to call them or send an e-mail for warranty support. The manufacturer will not honor the warranty unless you purchased the item from them directly. This is in conflict with what is listed for the product on Amazon's website. The response directly from the manufacturer is as follows: "You have a 1 year warranty. You purchased it from Amazon. They make it easy to return the first 30 days. After that you will need to call and work with them. We only do tech support for Amazon. You will need to call they and get them to cover the warranty. Sorry about the troubles." ... show more
