    • Fits 2006 Solara 4cyl
Needed an alternator for my Solara after the dreaded whining noise signaling the inevitable death. With the right tools and after viewing a couple of you tube videos this job took less than one hour. The alternator fit like a glove and no more whining noise. I did go to Harbor Freight and got the serpentine belt tool kit (Item #63689) for about $18 which made the job much easier. Tip: use a short 19mm socket and a short 3/8" socket extension. I was not able to get a long socket to fit. Extra tip: Every time the battery is disconnected the car computer gets reset to factory setting meaning the idle will go to around 500 rpm making the engine stutter. Quick fix: start the engine and tap the gas pedal gently bringing the rpm to about 700 or your liking. Hold it for one minute then press the brake with the left foot while still maintain 700 rpm and put the gear in Drive. Turn the a/c on and hold the gas for another minute. Put the gear back in park and let the gas pedal go, it should stay at 700 or whatever you set it for. ... show more

PERFECT !!! Came in 2 days and was an exact match for the one I had to replace. I watched a couple YouTube how to and then removed the old one and installed the new one all by myself.     • Failed right outside of warranty
Do not buy this alternator, it is designed to fail right outside of warranty. Mine failed the day after the one year warranty was up. Would leave zero stars if I could. It says "New" but remanufactured is what you want to pay attention to.

    • 07 Toyota Highlander alternator
Ordered the wrong alternator for my 07 Toyota Highlander from denso (which btw did not state the Toyota or denso number that corresponds to the specific vehicle) but I looked this company up and they have amazing reviews. Also they sent me a voltage test paper to show that it passed all the voltage tests, when I purchased the denso alternator it just came in a box and instructions but no paper stating that it is fully charged. Anyways long story short I installed the DB alternator last night and it ramps up to the appropriate voltage when I blasted everything on in my car and also I already put 70 miles on the alternator with no problem. The alternator works fine so far, but the description is not accurate. It said "100% Brand New Aftermarket Unit NOT Remanufactured", but when I received the item, it has a label outside the box said "Remanufactured"! So, is it brand new or remanufactured?
