My brother installed the alternator for me. He had not problem putting it in. It is working just fine in my car so far.

Do Not Buy
I thought this was a great value and it was easy to install but 6 months later it has died. No output detected, ended up having to but a more expensive alternator and have a mechanic install to make sure I get a warranty. I am so disappointed that it cost me so much more in the long run.

Customer service problem on first one
The alternator fit fine on my 2006 Subaru Outback, and shipping was really fast. Unfortunately it failed after about 2 1/2 months. Here's the bad part: The one year warranty isn't actually honored by DB Electrical, and I found their customer service to be horrible via e-mail. DB Electrical is refusing to honor the warranty. Their direct quote: "Amazon took your money. We did not." I followed the instructions for warranty service listed on Amazon (which said to contact DB Electrical), and this is the treatment they give you. I got ahold of Brad on the phone and he was much better and offered to help. So that's a good sign. We'll see what actually happens. So at this point, DB Electrical DOES NOT stand behind their products, and probably shouldn't be selling on Amazon in my opinion. Update: So it turns out that Amazon covers the warranty on Prime orders but DB covers the warranty on others. So to be fair it is getting covered but that’s only after two days of brain damage. I hope this new one lasts more than 2 months / 1500 miles! Update #2. The replacement unit is working fine after 6 months / 5-6000 miles. So good for now. I’d give it 3 stars now, not higher due to customer service. Alternator itself is good.
