This alternator works great in my 2000 Chevy Tracker. I went all over town looking for one and looking to have one rebuilt, but nothing beat the price that DB Electric sells them for. Autozone and all those guys wanted $180 plus a $40 core charge. Not DB Electric. They shipped the alternator fast and in great time. It arrived Friday morning and I ordered it on Tuesday night. Now, I'm not a mechanic, but this was even fairly simple to install for a guy like me. The hardest part was getting it attached to the engine or body of the car.. whatever I did. We'll just say I put it where it needed to go. Everything else after that was simple (plugs, serpentine belt, etc.) After everything was put back in place, and had the tubes and plugs reinserted, I went to start my car and it started up after 4 or 5 turns. My battery was flat out dead. Now it starts in 1 turn and is ready to go. I'll keep this post updated with anything that ends up happening. Thanks Amazon and DB Electric! I'm so happy I got my crappy car back! (Whatever works, right?) ... show more

I have a 2001 Tracker with the alternator going out. Looked around and found this one. Installed and works great!! UPDATE May 2, 2015: Purchased June 2013 and as of today 5-2-15 the DB alternator in 2013 is bad. So I'm revising my original 5 star rating to just 1 star. There's no reason for the fail on this alternator less than 2 years of service. ... show more

Bottom side barely fit into bracket, measured.020 wider than original, filed off until it fit and bolt was in, when rocking upwards the alternator casing was hitting a different bracket, taped over vent holes and rat tail filed until it would fit in and top bolt would align and go in. Worth the price even with the inconvenience of having to hand fit it. ... show more
