This is the second DB alternator that I've purchased for my F350 diesel, which are noted for going through alternators. Stock lasted ~100,000 miles, first DB lasted ~150,000 miles and I'm hoping for the same from this one. Also bought one for my son's Ford Ranger, over 100,000 miles on that one so far. I retired this year, so money is a bit tight, and now I'm deep into the fixed income bracket. I checked my local parts houses and a rebuilt alternator for my truck was $285.00. I thought I'd check out Amazon and this unit, a new, not rebuilt one, was only $73.00 (and change). Well-it fit perfectly-and is charging just fine. Easy to install-direct fit for my 03 F250 6.0. Box includes a printed reciept with what amperage the alternator tested at before leaving the factory. Very good quality!!

My alternator died. Ordered this DB for my 06 F350. With the quick release on the serpentine idler the entire process didn't take more than 10 minutes. Output at the batteries at idle immediately read 13.45 volts. After checking what it would cost to replace at a dealer I figured a savings of between 600 to 800 dollars, well worth my ten minutes and two day shipping wait. ... show more
