It took us a while to figure out how to take out the old one out, there is a bolt behind the engine block that screws into the bottom of the alternator. Do not tear off the front bumper of your car, as many YouTube instructional videos tell you. You can replace the alternator by simply detaching it and wiggling it out. ... show more

So my alternator went out, and buying it at autozone or other car part shop, was gonna drop me a good 300+ I drive a German, so any German part isn’t cheap. I went on here, did research and found that it I wasn’t gonna get jipped. I even ask a German car mechanic, and he said this is legit and I won’t regret it.     • You have to shave some of the metal off the left side of the bolt holes to get it to go in.
Product seems to work well. Got rid of alternator workshop code on my passat. If you have a 2001 vw passat 2.8 expect this thing to fight you putting it in. It doesnt quite fit like it should. Dont get me wrong the bolt holes line up perfectly but i had to shave a little metal off one of the ears to get it to slide in otherwise it wouldnt budge into the spacer. Other than it being a pain in my ass to install the product has worked great so far for a little over 100 miles. ... show more
