My head size is at most, and I tried a few measurement positions, 23.75 inches = 60.3 CM. Now, the extra large range for this model is 58.7 - 61 cm, so it should fit. Right? I wanted to put a hat underneath, so I ordered a 2XL, whose range is 61.3-63.5 CM. Remember, I am 60.3 CM. Well even without the hat this 2XL is snug. I won't say tight because I am thinking a motorcycle helmet is supposed to be a bit tight compared to a bicycle helmet with MIPS, let's say. It is wearable, but NOT for ANYONE even 0.01 CM bigger than my 60.3 CM head, in my estimation, unless you like a super tight fit. I do not. It is bothersome. So the stated size range is off and then some. I imagine this model has been returned many a time. Another point: Sometimes people give accurate reviews. I did not listen to the "mushroom head" reviews and they were right. Look at my pictures. Although the hat- underneath look may indeed end up looking ridiculous in any case with any helmet, in this here case before us, I feel like the Rick Moranis character in Spaceballs, and look a lot like the Imperial Navy Trooper (had to find that name, although Star Wars is fine, I like it, just saying) in Star Wars, look at my photos. They exemplify just how much this helmet shoots out from the head. It has a lot of padding. Maybe that is typical for motorcycle helmets, I don't know. I was only going to wear this for a scooter. If you're on a motorcycle, if you can get the right size, this helmet might be fine for you. I was only going to wear it for a scooter that I thought I might use at full speed at times (35-40 mph, but after the testing the scooter I think I will end up staying in the 15-25 mph range and don't need a DOT helmet, preferring a bicycle helmet with ventilation and MIPS in lieu of a snug fit with little ventilation if any and DOT. 3 out of 5 stars because of the sizing issue and funny look.

I've been searching for a helmet (bicycle, motorcycle, etc.) that would fit my head for the last 35 years (since my college bicycle/moped days). I have 24.5" head, but it's also more oval than round shaped front to back, so that makes my head size actually much larger than the 24.5" of a measuring tape. Fast forward 35 years to the present and I just bought a cargo ebike (Rad Power Bikes RadWagon), which actually more moped/motorcycle than it is bicycle. I really love this ebike, but having 35 more years of common sense (and feeling a lot less immortal) I knew I really needed to be wearing a helmet with it. After still failing to find a skateboard/bicycle helmet for my head, I decided to search for motorcycle helmets, specifically the half helmet/skullcap type, which wouldn't look completely overkill when worn riding a fat tire cargo ebike. On a long shot, I actually searched for a 66cm helmet, but I practically did a little jig of excitement finding this helmet with an almost 69cm 4XL size! And not a bad price either! I still had my doubts though as I waited for it to arrive. I took it out of the box, put it on my large dome, and hallelujah! It actually fit! Yeah, I look a little like Toad the Mario Kart character with a bit of a mushroom head, but hey -- it's a helmet for my had that took 35 years to find! I'm extremely happy with my ebike, but even more so now that I'm not risking my life riding it without a helmet. All that said, the helmet is also very well made, very comfortable, excellent chin strap (easy to operate putting it on and off), not too hot (I live in N FL), and although I don't know how well it would do in a high speed motorcycle crash, I feel it will protect me very well in a 25mph ebike crash. About the only thing negative I can say about it was really difficult to snap the visor on the helmet. Other than that -- perfect. I would gladly pay 2x the price for this helmet, and I was actually looking at plenty of bicycle helmets that actually are 2x the price.

It’s a good helmet but it’s a little uncomfortable on the ears with the design cut. Held up good and it’s the first Daytona Helmet I’ve purchased. It will cause some issues when wearing any glasses or possibly add in breaking the arms of your glasses at the ears. Didn’t know that I looked like a mushroom as much until I was adding the picture… All in all, I'm happy with the fit and the colors available. It sits a little bit higher than I preferred but it is really all about the safety aspect.

I was in search of an affordable half helmet, and this fit the bill. It's definitely a great value and appears to be well made. Overall a pretty good looking helmet. This helmet is heavy for what it is. when you put it on your head, you'll really notice the weight. As far as sizing, I'd say it runs small. I wear an XL in most helmets, and I couldn't get the XL on my head. I ended up ordering the XXL and the fit was good. My biggest gripe with this lid is the sheer size of it. It's a big helmet. I have no fairing on my bike and when I got over 40 mph, this thing would catch the wind and start to lift off of my head. It was so bad, I'd have to constantly adjust it at every stop light. If you have a fairing on your bike, you may not experience the same effect. After wearing the Daytona for two and a half months, I had to give it up for something smaller and lighter. I know there's not as much protection in a more minimal helmet, but they're a lot more comfortable. I guess it's a trade off you have to be willing to make.
