I bought this along with a 2.0mm nozzle so I could spray my kitchen cabinets. In addition I also bought the 3M 26003 PPS 2.0, S2c 16mm female,1.5mm adapter for the 3M 26301 PP2.0 22oz spray gun cup, lids and liners kit with the 125 micron filter. Those are not cheap but make the spraying experience a LOT easier. Also a $10 water/air separator, so you don't get spots in your finish. Of course you need an air compressor to make it all happen. I ended up getting a Kobalt 26 gal quiet tech 4.5 cfm @ 90 psi for $380 from Lowes. Using the R500 was easy and it comes with instructions, although they could be a lot better. I was able to use primer and SW emerald urethane satin enamel straight, without having to thin it. I took out the plastic inline filter from the spray gun because it wasn't necessary. Overall I'm very impressed with the results that I was able to get! Make sure that you use a respirator and if you're spraying inside a cabinet use a piece of cardboard to cover your respirator to protect from the blowback. Otherwise your respirator will get clogged very quickly. Update! After using it on a number of home projects - kitchen, living room cabinets, front door etc - I'm getting really good results, although there is a learning curve. Some things to remember - keep all 6 holes in the spray gun nozzle clear. If you're spraying side to side, turn your nozzle with the tips vertical. Up and down, turn the nozzle horizontal to get the best coverage. Because the instructions aren't very clear - the top red knob determines the shape of the spray. #4 on the knob works for me. The bottom red knob determines the amount of paint coming out. Between #1 and 2 works for me. you'll just have to play with it. If the amount of air is too great, you'll tend to be splatters. Fortunately SW Emerald urethane satin enamel will level out. Also - too much air doesn't allow the paint to cover as well as it should. The method that has worked the best for me is spraying side to side and then immediately up and down while having a bright led light on the floor shining up while I'm looking down from the top upon a ladder. That way I can see and then soak the areas that need it, without applying too much and that will prevent drips. May sound crazy, ha, but it works! :) Hanging my cabinet doors from my garage ceiling with wire, various hooks and strong clothes hangars enables me to hold onto the hangar while spraying and then immediately turn it around to spray the other side.

Works well, super affordable and decent build quality. I use this to paint project cars at home and I am Impressed. I'm a professional auto technician I also do paint & body professionally. I use the graco sharp spray guns at the shop but for at home using smaller compressor this r500 lvlp is great for the price and performance.

I observed a minor issue with the product I received – there was an unusual white substance on both the paint inlet joint and the air adjustment knob. While it might be some form of thread lock or sealer, the application is inconsistent, and traces of it even extend to the air inlet body. This was weird because this unit is designed for complete disassembly, making the presence of thread lock or sealant somewhat odd. It's possible that it's either a case of poor application of thread lube/lock, gunk left over from manufacturing, or potentially contaminated metal. Those issues didn't affect the overall quality of the gun, but it bothered me as I expected pristine and clean. UPDATE (10/26/23): After engaging with the vendor, I'm pleased to report a positive resolution. They sent me a complete replacement kit, and I found the replacement unit noticeably cleaner and more in line with my expectations. After putting it to the test, I'm happy to report that it performs excellently, with all the components working as intended and a high quality spray pattern. It's worth noting that the kit I purchased also includes four (4) nozzles, representing a very good value. I've noticed that multiple vendors offer a re-packaged R500 gun. I must commend the vendor, DAXINYANG, for their exceptional customer service. They have truly impressed me with their high level of assistance, showing responsiveness, friendliness, and support throughout. For their top-notch customer service and follow-up, DAXINYANG certainly deserves a full 5-star rating. To that end, I've updated my review and improved the star rating. The product is good, and the vendor support is outstanding; hence, the 4-star rating on the product. I would absolutely buy products from DAXINYANG again.

This paint gun looks, feels & operates like a high-quality tool. Controls were smooth to operate & allowed precise adjustments to spray pattern & volume, making it easy to lay down a uniform coat of paint or clear coat. The variety of nozzles is an added bonus. My first full-car driveway paint job came out pretty nice.

This gun sprays base and clear great, having shot a truck hood and roof and an Escape fender. 30 Gallon 3 HP Craftsman compressor providing air. Did not over exert the compressor in the least. Used PPG Shopline and highly recommend that too. A little orange peel, but that was due to being a bit rusty with a paint gun. For the DIYer looking for a great gun at a great price, this is it.

I bought this gun because I have a 21 gallon air compressor, and I needed something that use less CFM than most HVLPs. This gun is amazing it uses less air and atomizes very well and I'm very happy with it.
