Works well enough for a newbie. Annoying how many cables hanging everywhere. You get what you get for the price. It's a hundred dollar gun. Not a 5K gun.

When I first bought the Eastwood Hotcoat PCS-250 Powder Coating System, I’ll admit I briefly pictured Clint Eastwood standing in a dusty western street asking a valve cover, “Do you feel lucky, punk?” Unfortunately, this is not that kind of gun. You cannot holster it dramatically. You should not spin it around your finger. And if you point it at someone during a showdown, you’ll probably just coat them in satin black polyester powder. Still… this thing works surprisingly well. Once you figure out grounding, air pressure, powder flow, curing temperatures, humidity, moon phases, and whatever ancient industrial magic powder coating requires, the results are fantastic. The finish comes out smooth, durable, and honestly pretty professional looking for something happening in a garage next to lawn equipment and questionable extension cords. There is definitely a learning curve, though. Your first few parts may look less “factory coated” and more “artifact recovered from a house fire.” But after a little practice, you start turning random metal objects into glossy masterpieces for absolutely no reason. Suddenly everything becomes a candidate for powder coating. Brackets. Tools. Bolts. Old hardware. Things that absolutely did not need powder coating but now look amazing anyway. The gun itself feels decent quality, easy enough to use, and the whole system is pretty straightforward once you stop overthinking it. Would Clint Eastwood use this in a movie? Probably not. Would a middle-aged guy in his garage become emotionally attached to it after successfully coating one suspension bracket? Absolutely yes. Good product. Solid results. Makes you feel like an industrial wizard with compressed air.

Super easy to set up and use. I didnt have any issues with spraying my parts. Probably have done ~30 various brackets and hinges. Using just the ground from the receptacle, did not have any issue with creating a good charge and getting adhesion. I actually liked it better without the tip on the end. I connected a water filter and lower pressure, pressure regulator and didn't have any issues with an even, smooth coat - that has a lot to do with the oven situation too, but as far as I could tell, the gun worked great. Like the clear bottle for seeing how full it is. Lots of youtube videos to watch on how to use and improvement modifications. I have been very satisfied. Oh, and the handheld grounding button is far far better than some of the other inexpensive ones with the foot controlled buttons.

I purchased this April 27th 2026 the bottle that came with it works fine but I have 25 other bottles that I've purchased from Eastwood that do not fit because the thread is different on the gun than the bottles it's a finer thread so I cannot use any of my older bottles that I keep powder coat in and it's been more than 30 days so they won't do a return. In the pictures the Yellow Tape indicates where the thread start and stop the new bottle is empty and it's definitely a finer thread because the threads go around farther
