Instead of having Tesla wanting to replace the whole door handle with a new generation handle, I was able to say several hundred by doing the work myself. My particular issue was the door handle presenting, but not opening when pulling on the handle as the old sensor started to fail. Watched a YouTube video to see how to take apart of the inside of the door to access the door handle. It does take quite amount of time the first time. But once you learn it, it would be quicker if you had to do it again. Take your time and watch the YouTube videos a few times to get a good understanding. While taking apart the door, doesn’t hurt to take pictures of where the bolts and wires went into, or even labeling the wires with tape to make it a little easier. It was worth the time and effort, and the $30 dollars spent to save the several hundred to have it done elsewhere. ... show more

    • Great Kit with all the parts you need
I installed this kit over a month ago. It took longer than I expected and was a bit challenging to reassemble because I have large hands and fat fingers. The kit comes with everything you need so as long as you have the few basic tools required and plenty of time you should be able to install the kit and repair your Tesla Model S door handle. PS make sure you confirm which handle assembly you have installed on your car before ordering. I’ll be ordering these again when my other handles eventually break. ... show more

2016 Tesla model s, fixed my passenger door handle not presenting. Took approximately 20-30 min. Pretty easy fix with some common hand tools

Worked great. The metal is thicker on the new handle present gear. Should last forever now. I only rated 4/5 because I only used the gear. I didn't need the included switches yet. I recommend this kit!

    • Claw works great, wrong angle on sensor switch
The "claw" works on my 2014 Tesla S gen 3 handles with no issues, only a slight issue with the sensors, they are at a slightly different angle, enough to make the door automatically open even if you dont pull it, no matter how it gets adjusted, it will still automatically open. Ended up using hotglue to wedge the sensor in the right position. ... show more
